Nationals

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE.  WOWZER.

I am very happy that I left for Boston when I did. It gave me a day to just chill and get the plane off me. If I could have made a day extra, that would have been even better. But that’s the breaks when you don’t have a lot of money!  I met a lot of FANTASTIC people, connections, friends…and more over, I know what I have to do now to be #1.

I didn’t feel on top if my game the day of, that’s for sure. I don’t know what it was, but hey, **** happens.

First event was the Log Press @ 150 pounds. Getting it to my chest was nothing, getting the lock out was the problem. I just couldn’t get it.

Second event, 325 pound axel and tire deadlift.  First time ever to hit this weight! I got three!

650 tire was third…this mother was a bitch and a half. It stood a few inches over my head, and laying flat came up to my knees almost. It was difficult to say the least just to get a grip on this baby.  I made 35 or so feet, not my best.

380 pounds combined Farmers Walk. 100 feet with one turn and NO drops. I just focused on NOT DROPPING the damn thing. I finished in 35 seconds.

And last but not least was the 200 pound Atlas Stone. I had never done this one before. Interesting to say the least! Tacky btw, is some CRAZY ****!! We had to lift this baby over a 44 inch bar as many times as possible in 60 seconds. I made 4 was in the middle of my 5th when my time ran out.

There were things about this Nationals that was not run correctly. Not posting of our scores, no space for disputes..which was a huge mistake on their parts. At the end of the comp. they gave the middle weight 3rd place trophy to the wrong person and had to recall it. Talk about embarassing for them and the poor gal that thought she won. They also put my in 6th place, although I finished in 4th.   We’ll see if they fix that.

other than that, I had a BALL. I can’t wait for the next comp.

A few really awesome things have happened because of this. I have a Pro photo shoot in Jan. my local paper is doing a feature on me and I made huge waves. They know I come to bring it.

Hopefully I’ll find a sponor(s) pretty soon. and maybe get back into some modeling? We’ll see.

Totally assaulted my arms and they aren’t even sore today!  WTF!

I curled 130!!!

Mama come to BRING IT!

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

So, right now, right this minute I have 13 days till Boston. Where I will be competing in Strongwoman Nationals.

The day after the last Comp I took the day off…of course right. My body was TIRED and SORE I have bruises in places I wouldn’t have expected. And where I fell, OMG my knees are bruised to high hell as well as my ankle.

BUT, there is no rest for the wicked weary. Non at all.

I hit the gym Monday and did the most insane Chest routine in ages. I bumped all my weight up by 30-40 pounds. I made a 245 bench for 2 reps and for the rest of the time didn’t hit anything under 185, make 2 sets with 225 for 6 reps. Oh, I mean it when I say, I come to Bring It.

I didn’t touch a Dumbbell under 50 pounds except for flyes.

I blew my back up as well on Tuedays doing Barbell rows with 185 for reps baby!

Shoulders yesterday doing standing military of 135 for reps…and that was after I was already TIRED. that one is going UP.

Today, ohhhhhh. today is Biceps. I venture to say that I may not be able to type later….hell may be not even wipe my own Arse! LMAO

I have so much to do, in so little time.

And the support I have seen from people is AMAZING. I am totally and competly flabbergausted…the love from people is just….it leaves me speechless.  I will be naming every single person who has helped me and thanking them all. I want you all to know that these people help me make this journey possible. My Husband is the MOST amazing man I have ever know. His support, his love and his push are inspirering through all the rest.

Amazing.

Washington’s Strongest Apple Results

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

The day started off with my stomach doing triple back flips!! I really wonder if I was going to upchuck! I never did.

What a crowd too! More people than I thought would be there, that’s for sure. And Every person that I invited to be there for me showed save for a few…but even they called me, texted or emailed me or called….I love my people.

So, opening the show was me! I flipped a 600 pound tire for 66.5 feet in 60 seconds…my competitor made 60 feet.   I took first in that event.

It took about an hour or so for all the competitors to go through this event, so it was awesome that we had time to recoup from each event.  Thank god!

Second event was the Axel press. 121 pounds for my weight class. I only beat her by one on this event. 10 to 9. Again, I took first in this event.

Third event was the Farmers Walk for 200 feet. This one was a beast! 157 pounds in each hand. ****ing heavy. The whistle went off and she took off before me..but I put in gear and smoked past her ass in a quickie! I turned the corner and my right hand could NOT straighten out the weight and I ended up dropping the weight at maybe 140 feet or so. I picked it back up and took off again, the crowd screaming…I didn’t know where she was but knew I had to GO. About 30 feet maybe from the finish line something happened, I’m not sure what, but I feel. Some said my knees just went, I never felt it coming just down I went, HARD. I got right back up, grabbed those ****ing bars and went for home. I took it!  With one drop and a fall I took in 54 seconds!  First again!

**On this event, throughout all the competitors…I was the only person to make it all the way except for about 4 or 6 guys twards the end. 2 of those men were guys I train with. Please forgive me if I didn’t count you in…Its not intentional. I am so proud of them. Not to mention that Matt also had his first comp with me and he did really really well. He is going to dominate once he gets some training in! No doubt he will be Pro in a few years.**

And Last but not least was the Keg Load. 4 kegs staggered from lowest to highest weight.  150, 180, 200, 220 to a 50" platform.  Uuuuaaaaah  Uaaaaaahhh!!!  This one is a major bitch btw.   I did not have any competition in this event. It was just me and the clock. I got the 150 keg up no sweat, the 180…the 200 keg, I was going to get up on that damn platform. If I had competition against me I WOULD have done the 220. But I was tired and with no one to push me…I just didn’t.  I know!   But, I took first in this event as well.

I took first in Women’s Heavy Weight! I am Washington’s Strongest Woman!

And  Washington’s 2009 Strongest Apple!!

Monday, July 13th, 2009

I went to my first real bodybuilding show. Now, for me at least this was not the normal everyday sit in the stands type of deal. A dear friend of mine was competing in this show, so, I got to be back stage, fluffing. And not just her, but help with many people.

This was one hell of an experience. I met people that I have followed for years or knew of when I was a teenager. I got to see the entire deal from a competitors view. Talk to peole about how their journey has been, their failures and triuphs. I also got to see a few good friends of him succedd and achomplish a life goal.

This weekend was an awesome experience for me. And, has puched me even further into the world of bodybuilding.

If ever I was unsure, I am not now.  Look out, because now, I am on a mission.

Life’s little (UN)pleasantries

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Overall I am very happy with my life. With the progess I have made thus far.

On Jan. 22, 2009 my little brother was killed in a freak accident. He was 22 years old, starting his life, getting ready to propose to his long time girlfriend. He had a great job, paid his bills, and was all around the type of person you WANT to know and have in your life.

I don’t have any regrets with him, for that I am thankful. We talked almost everyday, emailed more than 5 times a day, hung out togehter, talked about bullshit and important life issues.

His loss has affected me greatly and has shown me…to really live. Not to live in fear of failure. Not to live without jumping in full force and making mistakes. To really go after what it is you want, because you never know what tomorrow holds in store for you. I can say that he lived his life like he knew he was going to die young.

He didn’t hate or spread drama. He loved with his WHOLE heart and he cared for others, doing things for people without reason, only love. He never asked for anything, just a smile or a hug or a laugh.

I look at life differently because of him. I have lost people before, but I have always seen their demise coming. Either due to an illness or due to a very unhealthy lifestyle.

I am working on how I want the rest of my life to be. So do me a favor, look at the people you love, and tell them so. Call your freinds just because, tell your mama that she means the world to you even if you don’t really get along. Tell your dad that you love him…talk to your grandparents if they are still around and let them know that they are awesome.

Look into your children’s eyes and see the beauty that lies within them, look at your brothers and sisters and hug them as often as possible. Look at your spouse and remember why you married them.

And remember, to laugh, to love, to live.

Ascension

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

We all pick a spot and start climbing. We all fall, from time to time. Only some decide to get back up and start the climb again.

It’s your place to find which one you are. Are you the one that looks at the odds, and though they are many,( as so many odds usually are,) you like what you see. The sheer fight that you are up against makes you excited, rushes the blood to your temples, quickens the heart, and causes you sheer unadulterated bliss.
OR, are you the one that tries, fails and lies there in utter defeat? To afraid of the pain, the looks, the work. Does the fall shatter your very core, tearing at your soul? Or, does it angry you, push you, encourage you to succeed, to accomplish, to WIN?

I have struggled with my weight all my life. I just recently had my epiphany. (although 2 years isn’t that recent) I have never been a weak soul, never one to bow down, back down ,never one to quit.
Watch carefully, my ascension is coming.
