Life’s little (UN)pleasantries

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Overall I am very happy with my life. With the progess I have made thus far.

On Jan. 22, 2009 my little brother was killed in a freak accident. He was 22 years old, starting his life, getting ready to propose to his long time girlfriend. He had a great job, paid his bills, and was all around the type of person you WANT to know and have in your life.

I don’t have any regrets with him, for that I am thankful. We talked almost everyday, emailed more than 5 times a day, hung out togehter, talked about bullshit and important life issues.

His loss has affected me greatly and has shown me…to really live. Not to live in fear of failure. Not to live without jumping in full force and making mistakes. To really go after what it is you want, because you never know what tomorrow holds in store for you. I can say that he lived his life like he knew he was going to die young.

He didn’t hate or spread drama. He loved with his WHOLE heart and he cared for others, doing things for people without reason, only love. He never asked for anything, just a smile or a hug or a laugh.

I look at life differently because of him. I have lost people before, but I have always seen their demise coming. Either due to an illness or due to a very unhealthy lifestyle.

I am working on how I want the rest of my life to be. So do me a favor, look at the people you love, and tell them so. Call your freinds just because, tell your mama that she means the world to you even if you don’t really get along. Tell your dad that you love him…talk to your grandparents if they are still around and let them know that they are awesome.

Look into your children’s eyes and see the beauty that lies within them, look at your brothers and sisters and hug them as often as possible. Look at your spouse and remember why you married them.

And remember, to laugh, to love, to live.
