We all know wha a royal B*^^$4 it can be to get back in the game when afflicted by an injury. I think a little tidbit of fear clutches at the back of your mind, keeping you at bay for a while. Be careful, you don’t want to get hurt again.
I have been struggling with this for a few months and it sucks. It really doesn’t help me at all that my lifting partner is out of town, the weather is cold and talking to my joints and I still after all this damn time have little stabs of pain from time to time inthe shoulder. *^&%%#%* Yea, you hear me.
Anyway, my point is this. NO PAIN, NO GAIN. Just be smart about the pain you inflict on yourself. There is a difference between good and bad pain. All we hardcore athletes know this. No matter if it is lifting, running, ball sports or what have you. Its ok to wanna throw up after heavy squats. Fainting even happens from time to time depending on just how hard you pushed it. Is that a good thing. Probly not, but that depends on how hardcore you wanna be.
Arnold used to say that if he wasn’t throwing up from pure exurtion he hadn’t had a good lift. If he wasn’t in some sort of pain from his lift, it wasn’t good enough. I’m not Arnold, but I know what the man is saying.
No excuses from me, I have to admit I have been lazy. Plain and simple. I’m ashamed to admit it, because I LOVE to lift and hate how I feel when I don’t lift. Even though my shoulder still bothers me, and it does, I MUST get back to my hard lifting again. Cardio and ab work just doesn’t cut it for me.
