The Truth

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

I’m not going to lie..I’m not one of the biggest muscled people on this forum…but I’m not the smallest either. I guess you could say that i am in the middle of it all. For me it’s been hard to gain weight..considering I’m an ectomorph and all, but does that stop me?? NO! I keep pushing myself to greater heights..You have to tell yourself that you’re gunna grow…or you won’t grow. You see it’s not all about proper diet, supplementation, and training. You gotta have the mind set to grow..You have to go in that gym, and act like that weight is nothing! Mind power is just as strong as any muscle..if not stronger. Get that mind and muscle connection going, and you’re all set to grow.

I love training, i love pushing my self to the next level. When i grab that bar, and get ready for my lift. I’m not worried about how much it weighs or how many reps i can do (although all of this is recorded), my mind is set on getting my muscle to grow..doing what ever it takes to rip those muscle fibers. I love feeling my muscles work..and work hard. I mean what’s the point in working out if you’re not going to get anything good out of it? If you’re not seeing any changes..it’s time to change the weights or reps..That’s how it goes your body will adapt to the stress your putting on the muscle and thing will get easier…Throw another 5-10lbs on the bar for next time and get rite to it. It doesn’t take much change to stimulate the muscle even further, and you HAVE to do that..that’s what makes your muscles grow. Now I’m not saying go out there and there and take the heaviest weight and press it once or twice, what I’m saying is pick a weight that’s tough, but easy enough to where you can get a significant amount of reps going. Honestly…Leave your ego at the door..there’s no place for it in the gym. You could hurt yourself having too big of an ego, and loading up 400lbs for a bench press, and only doing a 1/4 rep with a spot the whole time..I mean seriously come on. I’d rather do half the weight with perfect full range form than heavier than hell weight with a 1/4 rep and risk seriously hurting myself majorly.

Also, Have fun! I mean be serious, but also have fun. Set mini goals for yourself for each workout, and set your mind to accomplish those..watch how great you do.

Till next time….

It continues….

I joind this forum Back in May of ‘06…. I was a "lurker" amongst the boards. Searching and trying t pivk up any good info i could, just about anything…It didn’t matter to me..i was learning the "do’s & don’ts" of training, nutrition, supplements…etc…etc. I had to post something….I made my first post in the powerlifting section, because at the time i was playing football and wondered if any one could give me a good routine for me to start on, because i did not feel my coaches routine wasn’t "cutting it" so to speak. I was expecting it all at once. The strength, the size (which i’m still working on by the way)…everything! I wanted it all in one day. I soon learned that bodybuilding takes time, and effort. But "hey what doesn’t rite?" Rome wasn’t built in a day ya know? Well with my newfound knowledge in hand…I trained, and trained…I swear i went through just about every routine at least TWICE! It was insane, and out of control, i don’t even know what i was thinking….I guess you can say I wasn’t thinking. For a while i stuck to a set routine…and I got bored with it….I guess that happens. Well after wasteing months on crappy training decsions,I started getting more and more involved in the forum. I was asking questions and giving answers. I was a noob back then..so my main goal was reps…lol. No suprise there though….I soon found my first neg….I was in the red…not deep, but it was red enough. Man was i mad…a neg was the rep i ever got. I tell you what..it didn’t feel good either. I guess i deserved it, I dont remember exactlly why i was negged, but i was. From that day forward….I vowed to myself to post sensible, and knowledgeable infromation, and to actually try and help ther people……..More next time!

The start of it all….

Man…it’s hard to say the exact date when i started, but i’m gunna say December one year ago. I decided it was time for a change after seeing the first hand effects of alcohol and abuse (more on that later)…but that covinced me to really try and succed at something in life. I wanted to be the best at what ever i did…sports, school, lifting,…everything. I tried the whole sports thing..and didn’t like it. I just couldn’t be an individual…i couldn’t reach my max potential. So i started lifting….At first it wasn’t a real basic routine..jsut somethin i threw together….3 set of 10…the noob workout. I wasn’t one of those kids bench pressing everytime i went into the gym either…as a matter of fact irarely benched at all…because of all the others hoging the damn benches….I reverted to squats as my bench press, the squat rackswerealways empty. So i always had a chance to get the workout i wanted. i didn’t waste my time on silly isolation movements, but stuck with basic compundlifts (bench press, millitray press, squats, dips etc…). Those were workin great…and within a couple of months i had gained about 20lbs of muscle. I was proud of myself. I created an account on bb.com after hearing bout it from one of my freinds at school..this was the place i wanted to learn more…this is where i had to make my name…To Be Continued…
