YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME? SUCKA
ITS NOT! You go into that gym and lift your heart out. Grab that dumbell and put your entire life force into it. If you haven’t puked during a work out or wretched out that pain then you arent trying hard enough. If you arent dripping sweat and casually lifting. There is no casual in lifting. Its not supposed to be a drive to the bar and a good night. Its a taking a chunk of yourself and putting it out on the line. Its all about what you want. Be selfish in the gym. Take away that weights power over you and lift it. It may sound very cromagnun of me but that is what weightlifting is about. Lifting shit, its not that hard to understand. Aint nothing to it but to do it. Everytime I go to the gym I see regulars, but they maintain and I wonder is that what they are going for. to maintain. Many of them could maintain by just not eating so much and maybe walking 30 minutes a day. But they lift, but they dont test themselves. Going to the gym is like an all around body test. You push yourself, you make that weight know that you came in to push it around and not have the weight push you around. Even if you couldnt lift it, you know that you made its mark on it, and you know that next time, that weight wont be so cocky towards you. If you havent gotten already Ive made "weight" as in barbells ands plates into a human personification. Im doing this to relate it to myself. Im often in the gym looking at a heavy weight and think, thats nothing, my body is just saying I cant, I wont, but Im saying that is nothing, pick that damn thing up, lift it, push it, pull it, it is nothing to me. If you havent broken a weight machine at a gym then you arnt working hard enough. Ive broken two cable pulleys twice, at my other ymca, both while doing cable flies, I could have lacerated my face with the weight pulling down that broken cable towards my face. I fell straight to the ground, it was a funny moment, but then a sincere one. To know that you pull the shit out of that machine and it fell apart in your grips. now that is something to boast, of course Im no powerlifter who can boost a 600 lbs bench, or a 700 lbs squat. But I make my own in this world. The world of lifting.. Peace out
