It really sucks when you get injured. I have strained knee, and one of my toenails is under process of falling off, after being stomped on. So my training is at a dead halt…BOOOOOOOO. Well at least I get some classwork done…

I have a ton of work that needs to be done, and its all pretty much physcally demanding, with design systems Im forced to be precise which puts stress on me and makes me sweat alot. Kind of like when you get nervous and you have swamp ass. I have to stretch, at least 15 canvas’ for class, and have a painting started on by next week, the only thing that requires the least amount of effort is sitting here and posting a blog
I cant wait to go to the YMCA and swim today. I need to get my stretch on… with the muscles. What really sucks is I dont have enough money to buy food, which essential for me to gain muscle, so I was literally making food with leftovers I had, and it was crap. I actually through it away it was sooooooo bad. And Im known to eat anything. Plus I have no money for protein powder, I can deal without having some creataine or whatever, but I generally dont consume food alot, and not being able to afford Protein powder is a kick to the nuts. well Im off to the wonderfull world of art and design, ask me about it sometime, you might learn something, other than how to do a great bentover row…

I would probably eat one…
Anyways I realized that the gym will be closed for pretty much my entire workout week, for some renovations. I guess Ill have to use my own weights. bah…. I just dont have any room. Now if I had a power rack I wouldnt bother worrying about having to go to the gym. The gym would be my room. Well I gotta go to landscape drawing and figure out what kind of shit I need to do. Let me tell ya, art school seems like the alternative to pre-law or pre-med school, you may not believe it, but there is a lot of work involved into getting a degree in the arts. There is a difference in word usage though, while the pre-med and pre-law students are studying, the art students, well they are pretty much working, constantly, Im surprised I have time to eat and work out as much as I do… actually I dont, I just take the fall and stay up the extra four hours to finish my class work… MAN IM COMMITTED.. TO FITNESS.. BAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

"For the man of today there exists only the equilibrium between nature and spirit. At every moment of the past all variations of the old were "new"- but they were not "THE" new. everything old. This parting of the ways is absolute and final."
Piet Mondrian, Dutch Artist (1872-1944)
Some words of wisdom from some of the greats in the Art world. Its always interesting how you can use different philosophies to justify what you are doing in the world of health and fitness. I myself dont know what I could say to relate this quote above to lifting weights. I am just fried write now. you draw grids for 7 hours and see how you feel… It blows…. just like cardio blows… its just boring.. ridiculously boring… I gotta be up in about 5 hours. and that blows as well. But I am stoked about being able to go to the gym in a few days. And I had a great weekend. You could say too good. Id like to say that beer is natures appetite stimulus. I was hording down food like a mad man, which is good because I need to consume some protein. If I was sober I would have probably not have ate. Really I am trying to justify my drinking binge, but man It was a great time. Dancing at a warehouse techno rave shin dig.. HELLZ YES… well anyways I am off to studying now.. peace out

So I am listening to Kanye West, wishing I had an Ipod to listen to while I work out. But that has nothing to do with what I am writing about. I want to just discuss what pumps me up. Good Music pumps me up, coming to the gym and finding some regulars at the gym that you can sometimes work out with is what pumps me up. Kanye West’s "Stronger" pumps me up. The Mars Volta Pumps me up. Wanna know what I like to do at the gym, joke around, talk like arnold, talk like meatwad. Thats what I do, impressions. I guess I like to have some levity to a situation. I dont know, in fact I dont know what levity means of if I even put it in the right context. I went to the gym yesterday and brought a friend, even though I kept it light, I showed him how hard working at the gym can be, and still have fun. He got pissed when I told him we had to 30 minutes of cardio. The thing about art colleges, pretty much everyone smokes, aside from me. But let me tell ya, rest means rust, aint nothing to it but to do it, so get to it and never say screw it. Im out, PEACE!!!

ITS NOT! You go into that gym and lift your heart out. Grab that dumbell and put your entire life force into it. If you haven’t puked during a work out or wretched out that pain then you arent trying hard enough. If you arent dripping sweat and casually lifting. There is no casual in lifting. Its not supposed to be a drive to the bar and a good night. Its a taking a chunk of yourself and putting it out on the line. Its all about what you want. Be selfish in the gym. Take away that weights power over you and lift it. It may sound very cromagnun of me but that is what weightlifting is about. Lifting shit, its not that hard to understand. Aint nothing to it but to do it. Everytime I go to the gym I see regulars, but they maintain and I wonder is that what they are going for. to maintain. Many of them could maintain by just not eating so much and maybe walking 30 minutes a day. But they lift, but they dont test themselves. Going to the gym is like an all around body test. You push yourself, you make that weight know that you came in to push it around and not have the weight push you around. Even if you couldnt lift it, you know that you made its mark on it, and you know that next time, that weight wont be so cocky towards you. If you havent gotten already Ive made "weight" as in barbells ands plates into a human personification. Im doing this to relate it to myself. Im often in the gym looking at a heavy weight and think, thats nothing, my body is just saying I cant, I wont, but Im saying that is nothing, pick that damn thing up, lift it, push it, pull it, it is nothing to me. If you havent broken a weight machine at a gym then you arnt working hard enough. Ive broken two cable pulleys twice, at my other ymca, both while doing cable flies, I could have lacerated my face with the weight pulling down that broken cable towards my face. I fell straight to the ground, it was a funny moment, but then a sincere one. To know that you pull the shit out of that machine and it fell apart in your grips. now that is something to boast, of course Im no powerlifter who can boost a 600 lbs bench, or a 700 lbs squat. But I make my own in this world. The world of lifting.. Peace out
