Fighting spirits.

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

I never was a heavy drinker but now is feeling like my mind and body want me to quit, completely. When I get a dose of alcohol, there is a resistance - instead of pleasant relaxation. It feels like my mind and body rush to get it over with ASAP, neutralize the input. I’m impressed with something so violently healthy acting inside of me but miss a pleasure of a cup or two:)

My weight has kind of stabilized. I still abstain from unhealthy food but the process of losing pounds (I’ve lost 26 pounds in 3 month) has stopped. I hope that muscle is replacing fat now, and the change is not in body weight but in body structure. I know there are ways to measure body fat content but procrastinate.

A very pleasant surprise.

2 weeks in Italy, eating and drinking, great food and wine. Just 2 moderate workouts - but lots of walking.

I’m back at home - and not an extra pound! That feels good - never expected to come even in calories intake and burning during that trip.

This May I’m going to Rome and then to Sardegna for a 2-weeks FAM-trip. We travel agents are entitled to taste the best these 5-star hotels with their superb restaurants can offer and I’m afraid 23 pounds I’ve lost in the last 2 month will make their comeback.

When I see the guys with digital cameras photographing their reflections in a mirror - yes, it all looks a bit sad. Looks like they are maybe a little ashamed of what they are doing and can’t ask someone close to them to take a picture. Or just don’t have anyone they could ask. Which is also sad.

No offence to anybody. Been making some mirror photos myself:)

When I was at The Moscow University we used to wander from room to room with books we’ve just finished, talking to the pals about the new ideas that we’ve just picked up from reading. One of the conversations went from evening till the next morning - my friend just read a book on Zen attitude and was in a hurry to share the insights.

What was left in my head after the night of talking is no matter what you do you have to let it carry you along, just look at yourself doing it as if from above and aside.

I’ve stopped my weight loss activities and felt good - for a couple weeks. After a month of "following the natural flow of things" I gained 17 kilos and felt like a wreck. It took me a lot of time and effort just to get back to the starting point.

It’s all sounds a bit stupid but I was a confused guy, 20 y.o.

Is there a way?

One of my main concerns now is how to check if the protein I buy is the real thing or some sweetened substance, harmless at best but totally useless. The packaging seems authentic but still I have my doubts.

Welcome!
