Supermatch Will (Armbender) vs Artie MacMaster

I finally have a supermatch with one of the most dominating lightweights in Canada…I have been in Armwretsling for over 5 years now and finally got my 1st and only right handed win against Artie in Sept 2007 at the Canadian Nationals…H has lost the intimidation factor on me now with that 1st big win…He is an extremely strong and smart puller who now outweighs me by 20lbs….There is no date set yet but my training will begin tomorrow…The match will b 6 straight matches with a 1 min rest between each one. If there is a slip out it will automatically go to the straps…

 

I am really excited and motivated to win this challenge which will prove to be my toughest….

    Finished my run today as the start of my training for this match up. The run wasnt too bad. 1 mile in 9.5 mins.

    It is not necessary for me to lose weight for this match but I find I am stronger when I am in a semi-diet cardio phase. Armwrestling practice tonight.

    Armwrestling practice was awesome! I was still sore from the Tournement on Saturday but all in all it was great. We concentrated on very strict static holds in many different variations, never pinning the person but going to failure. At the end I worked on a new set-up for this match which I think will be very effective. My hand and wrist stamina is awesome which will help me in this match as Artie has a stronger arm.

    I think I will switch to doing Legs tomorrow instead of chest. Elbows are pretty beat up.

    Work-out today was great. I did Chest and Upper Back. I started super sets today to switch my routine up a little bit. No personal records but a great work-out none-the-less. Elbows are still sore from Mondays Arm-Wrestling practice so I htink it took away from my bench. A couple more weeks and I should be fully recovered.

    Pretty good training day. Biceps and Triceps. I incorporated Super-Sets again today. Very exhausting by the end of the routine. I used a spotter today for the 1st time. I dont normally use one as its hard to know what you are lifting and how much the other is helping. I want to strengthen my stopping power for this match so I did a tonne of HEAVY negatives on Barbell Curls. It felt great and my elbows held out for the whole routine.

    Awesome work-out today. Super Sets with Deadlifts and behind the neck pull-ups. Hit a PR on Deadlifts @ 225lbs. Grip strength is feeling great. Going to take the weekend off to rest and recover for Mondays training.

    Training wasn’t the best today. My whole family has Strept throat so I feel like crap. I decided to do my regular Monday run with a 1 mile in 10 minutes. It was a poor time but I’m tired. The 4 sets of barbell wrist curls which I felt good on hitting 95lbs for 15 reps, strict and slow. I am skipping Arm Wrestling practice tonight so I can recover ffrom being sick. Back to the gym tomorrow.

    Great day. I love training Hand and Wrist. It has to be my favorite work-out. Sets and weights were great. My wrist feels a little week on the left arm when in a reverse motion. I think it might be from using the grippers extensively this month. Might have to back off for a little. Im in week 2 for Size-On and it seems to be working well. I love the flavoring and love how it is a during work-out type drink. I hate having to schedule 5 different types of shakes throughout my day. I am still mixing 6gm Beta Alanine which is putting my stamina through the roof. A definate staple in my supplimintation

    Work-Out was awesome today. Completed Biceps and triceps super-setting each exercises in combos of 2. I didnt hit any PR’s but with the sequencing I did this time, my pump was insane. Arms feel great and ready to take a beating at the Arm Wrestling table. Still no scheduled date for this super match but it is in the works.

    Well, tournement went great. My first match was with Artie and it was what I expected….one tough match….I still cant use my hands…I did get the win in the end but it was a war!!!

    I think my performance could have been a little more dominating but I was suffering from Strept throat for 2 weeks. As my stats show I took a 5lb loss and my training schedule was nil…I am definately gearing to hit the gym tomorrow to start my training again…

    I have been sick for the past three weeks and its starting to take its toll on me…I attempted the gym on tuesday with back and legs, had a decent work-out but now I feel like absolute crap. I need to get to the gym this weekend!…I hope this bug passes soon

    ok…training is back on and in full tilt…i feel great…the date is going to be announced very soon….i beleive it will be at the end of this month…the challenger, Artie just came off a huge win crowning him BOTA Champion in Atlantic Canada so he is looking even tougher…cant wait for this to happen!!!

    Great training day yesterday..5×5 for chest and 2 hours of arm wrestling…the pulling went great..i still have to work on my stamina…going to up my calorie intake this week to help with recovery as my elbows are starting to feel the effects of over training….

    another awesome day..did my 5×5 with back shoulders and delts…absolutely burnt now…and strength is increasing as my PR’s for Deadlifts goes up..both good as i can incorporate them into my arm wrestling…tomorrow is leg day..blah
