No Way Out

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

AnnmarieI’ve done some modeling in the past for a friend of mine. Mostly boudoir stuff for her website. The first time I was a little nervous posing in lingerie, but the pictures came out nice so I’ve done it a few more times. Now my friend has decided she wants to do some couples shoots as well, and asked me if I’d be willing to pose with a male model. I said ok. But now that I’m thinking about it I am seriously thinking about bailing out of this. Thing is, if I do she will most likely be extremely angry. The only thing I can do now is hope she finds someone incredibly unattractive… LOL Yep, I am going to be in trouble.

Olympics Fever!

Friday, August 15th, 2008

My name is Annmarie and I am addicted to watching the Olympics… lol I’ve never been a big fan of the summer Olympics, but this year I have been bitten by the Olympic bug. I’ll admit I am not the type to follow sports that much, so it’s a bit out of character for me to be able to name athletes and know their stats… And while everyone has Michael Phelps fever, I’m liking Ryan Lochte a bit more… I’m waiting to see Breaux Greer compete with the Javelin (He’s Hurricane on American Gladiator… I’m sure you all know…lol) and I might just be in love with Jeremy Wariner. I watched Dara Torres swim tonight and I was literally out of my seat by the end of the race. She can kick some serious butt in the pool.

Now I live in Chicago and the city is up to host the summer Olympics in 2016. Before watching this Olympics I could care less if we got them here, now I am hoping we do.

Go USA!

Yep, it’s infected…

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

So funny how things work out (no pun intended…lol). I went to the doctor Fri because something had bitten me on the left top part of my breast Thursday… ( ok, feel free to insert your joke about it here… every one has been that I tell this story to) It was itchy and turned into a welt red and raised, larger than a quarter. When I woke up on Fri the welt was still there, but now there was a red line coming out of it and snaking around my breast. I knew it couldnt be a good thing and I was right. They gave me steroids and an antibiotic. While I was there they noticed my toe and I explained I had work on it a few weeks ago. After looking at they said it was infected. Since Fri the toe has gotten worse so today they changed antibiotics on me. So we’ll see what happens. And btw… breast is A-OK.

Recovery Update

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Well, it’s been a litle over two weeks since I had surgery on my toe and it’s still not totally healed. I’ve been living my life in flip flops since I can’t put on any other kind of shoe yet. I was a little nervous because I thought it might be getting infected, but the doctor looked at it and said it was healing fine. I think Im just anxious to be able to start wearing gym shoes again… Thanks to everyone who wrote to me about my first post… it was very nice of you all…

Annmarie : )

Ouch!

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I was having a problem with my big toe on my right foot… So much so it hurt like crazy when I’d put on a shoe. I knew I had to have it taken care of, and tonight I had a little out patient surgery on it. This was a big deal for me because I am a total wuss when it comes to needles and blood… especially my own… So three injections in my foot later I was numbed up. I listened to my ipod so I didn’t have to hear what was going on, but I did peek and saw some of the craziest scissors I’ve ever seen and a scalpel… That was enough to make me look away. When I was finished and checking out at the front desk I looked down and saw I had completely bled thru all the wrapping… I saw the doctor walking down the hall and I asked… "Ummm am I supposed to be bleeding thru that so fast?" He looked a little startled and asked me if I took blood thinners… Ummm no I don’t… ( and I thought isnt that a question you should ask a patient BEFORE cutting into them?? Im no MD but still….) So he rewrapped me with triple the gauze etc, and I was good to go. I actually walked home by myself… well limped is more like it, those shots really worked… (It was a 3 block walk btw) So aside from my foot throbbing like crazy, so far so good. And no more blood. The bad thing is I have to wait a week to wear a shoe again.

Weigh in update

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

This morning I was weighed and I was happy to find out I lost another 3 pounds. I have been sticking with the WW eating plan, writing down those points religiously and hitting the treadmill everyday. I think at this point I am going to keep everything the same and see what happens next week. I am more than half way towards my first goal, which is not too bad. I have a book signing in two weeks, so I am keeping that in my head as a reason to stay on track… So the total for pounds lost on WW now is 12.2.

Weight Watchers Week 2

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Today I had my second weigh in, and it went pretty much the way I thought it would. This week I lost one pound. I was a little disappointed after my big 8.2 pound drop last week. Even though I knew I wasn’t going to drop another 8 pounds, 1 seemed so feeble to me. This week I walked 1 mile on my treadmill every day and stuck to the eating plan. I do think that because of certain girlie issues (not going to explain any more than that… lol) I weighed a bit more today. My plan for next week… stay the same and don’t change a thing. See what the scale says next week and take it from there. Pounds lost so far on WW: 9.2.

My first weigh in

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Yesterday I went for my first weigh in doing Weight Watchers. I actually wanted to do a little experiment, so this is what I did… I followed their eating plan, sticking to the number of "points" I was allowed. This is based on age, current weight, how active you are… I’ll admit I didn’t work out at all last week. I wanted to see what I would lose just by changing my eating habits… And when I was weighed I found out I lost 8.2 pounds. I was really surprised, I was sure I had lost something, but not that much. Everywhere I have read it seems like 8 pounds lost in a week is too much… When I told my mom, she freaked out on me too… I told her that I dont expect the numbe r to be so drastic every week… If that was the case I would end up at zero soon and there wouldn’t be any reason for them to get my 39.95 a month from me anymore…LOL So this week I am going to work out and we’ll see what the magic number will be next week.

Weight Watchers

Monday, September 17th, 2007

This weekend I ended up joining Weight Watchers. My best friend joined and she asked me to as a kind of moral support for her. I said ok, if helps her stay on track… and maybe it might do something to keep me focused as well… (Recently they have had Jenny McCarthy as the WW spokesperson, who happened to go to my rival high school, so I havent been a big fan of hers… but I digress) I figure what the heck, I’ll give it a try. The meeting I went to had all ages groups (all women too, not one guy there) and these woman were serious about what they are doing… It was a bit strange, I felt like it was a bit cult-ish but there was there underlying current that everyone was there for the same reason. I must admit it was really cool hearing people vent their frustrations, or talk about their accomplishments and others really listen to them. I am still getting used to their whole "points" thing, but basically it’s a different way of counting calories. A few years ago I was able to lose 97 pounds on my own by watching my calorie intake and exercising. I’m confident I will be successful with this too… So if anyone out there has any opinions on WW I’d like to hear them. Just refrain from telling me how much you love Jenny McCarthy… lol
