I don’t really know how to explain the ups and downs of training. There are some weeks where inspiration finds a nice, soiled pigs trough and attempts to drown itself in the mucky filth and I barely get by. The majority of this time, workouts are 5 sets per exercise in a pyramid of uninventive weight increase and rep decrease. But this week- DAMN I FEEL GOOD. I’ve done some crazy sh** to add a little spice to the piggy trough and it started tasting good. In fact, I felt rejuvenated. This illustrates easily the hardest step to altering your life in any facet- the first. I crawled out of the slop and ran through the sprinkler, glorifying the straight yarn-like streams as if they were holy water. The excess washed off and their was a great weight that had taken a serpentine escape route from my head to toes. The movement made Newtons Law of Gravity appear visible; an act of the Gods of Scientific Law. I’m thinking about adding some creatine to my supplements once again to get more weight on the bars, but hell, as long as I stay humble and focused I’ll remain happy. I wish I could show the world my mediocre physique now so they can see it in 8 weeks. I wish they could measure my biceps. I wish they could laugh at my legs, better than last year, but not quite fitness model material. Yet. For every story there is an introduction and the resolution, or destination. With bodybuilding, I have been blessed with the mindset to enjoy the journey- which is the meat of the sandwich. The cream of the crop. The PART that REALLY MATTERS. I’m no longer the flaccid livestock dying for inspiration. It may have not been divine, but I have found it- and I am a walking new car scent. Breathe it in folks, breathe it in.

I’m not quite sure what this "yogging" is but I’ve added it to my weekly routine two times for 30 mins. It’s not quite running, and not quite walking- I’m still getting the hang of it. Today I yogged 3.5 miles comfortably after a great ab workout. I’m looking forward to Wednesday to once again partake in this ritual.

Oh how sweet it was. Gold’s was 10 bucks a day so I did 2 two-a-day sessions. Came back a little darker and as a by-product of sitting on the beach for 4 days, returned calm, cool, collected. A good portion of my sanity has returned. My pocketbook is practically non-existent but do I give a shit? No! 3-5 inches of snow tonight? No problem!
Regarding training and diet, I’m going to increase my daily meal intake to the frequency of 6. I intend to consume 30 to 40 grams per meal depending on specific proteins.
I weigh 160 and all of my PR’s haven’t budged in a while so it’s, as Marcellus Wallace says in Pulp Fiction "time to get medieval" on this shit. It was hard to eat 4 or 5 times on vaca but I predict 165 lbs by the time this weekend comes around.
For the month of February, I laid off of supplements entirely. So this week I went back on them and damn the pumps feel good. I’m looking forward to improvement. I’ve come this far, I can only get better. Progress pics coming soon.

Not that I’m a huge fan of cardio but I started doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai last week… and I’ve recently become a huge fan of cardio. I still plan on hitting ol’ Powerhouse four times a week with the addition of 3 sessions of bjj/mt to supplement. I’m feeling a bit worn out currently, think I might be coming down with something potentially so I’ll ease off the throttle here a little bit (first time I’ve done that in a while), should be a smart choice. Nonetheless, I’m excited to continue training with a new outlook on shaping my body. I recommend Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to anyone who cares to challenge themselves and has a little free time ( I just about gave up the rest of mine…).

One little piggy went to the market. one little piggy came home. That piggy bought some ice cream and natural peanut butter. One day you’ll be a huge motherf*cker, piggy.

That’s the game plan. If I hit one, bust through it. Just weighed in at 162 at the gym today, so time to relax and eat for the weekend. The game plan is to keep gaining weight on squats, bench and deadlifts- a.k.a. the big three. In the meantime, minimize the smith machine and other iso machines til I’m desperate and really ready to burn out the muscle (usually the last exercise). Some changes I’ve made:
-Added free weight squats, barbell bench press, clean and press, and barbell deadlifts.
-Changed chest/tri and back/bi to chest/back and bi/tri.
-Consuming 6 meals a day.
-Added beef liver tabs back into my diet.
And last but not least, I’m trying like the devil to eliminate as much possible stress as possible from my life. I’ve been without a beer for 5 days which isn’t really that difficult for me, the trick is just to avoid hanging out at bar’s due to the fact that everyone I know is a complete drunk. So 25 more days of sobriety and I should be on that road to cleaning up and packing on some serious size.
Mindset: Lift heavy, eat like an animal to be an animal and "talk to your muscles."
"Just so you know shoulders, you can’t hide… I’m here to get ya…"

When I was 15 I got my first set of wheels. A little red turbo-charged 2 liter with a moon roof and some other bells and whistles. Sure, I busted a little a ass here and there…washed my fair share of dishes for 7.50 an hour. In a sense, I was purchasing freedom.
Well today, I feel as if I started working on a new set of wheels. Sure, you can leg press 650 pounds on a leg press to gain some size. Leg extensions might deliver that exhausting pump that most casual lifters desire. In a sense, I’m after a new set of wheels. I’m after that gas-guzzler Chevy crate 502 blown. Leg presses ain’t gonna do it, leg extensions won’t cut it either. My leg workout today was fast-paced and challenging, yet inadequate. Nonetheless, I’m having a hard time getting up stairs so it’s a step in the right direction.
Squat - 5 sets superset with:
Stiff-legged Deadlift - 5 sets
Standing and seated calf-raises - 5 supersets
Zecher squats - 5 sets (these things are great).
So next week, I intend to transform my legs into more of a powerlifting style of workout. My goal is to put up 225 on the squat for reps consistently. Also, zecher squats should reach 135 for reps as well. I’m going to add leg extensions back in and keep the deadlift- probably try out 225 for those bad boys. Until then, i’ll be looking forward to busting ass for a new set of wheels.

I hate this word. It appears as if I have the entirety of the bodybuilding world growing while I just sorta plateau so I have come to conclusion it’s about time I stop messing around. I pledge myself sobriety for 60 days. Dry. No booze. Not a drop of wine. In addition, my carbohydrate intake will become disgustingly grosstasticly super-buckasswildlike in comparison to my normal diet. I’m looking to hit that magic 170 mark again. No stalling. No bullshit. This is about me succeeding- even if I have to choke down every damn calorie (which is looking to be the case). Wish me luck folks.

I lie to myself. I haven’t finished my personal training certification which is so damn close to being done. I haven’t stopped drinking a couple times a week. I haven’t been all too honest with myself. I figure it’s about time I probably be pro-active regarding this whole situation.
I intend to compete again and would enjoy some better results than last time. I guess it’s about time I back that shit up. Dammit.

Alright, time to clean up my lifestyle. I plan to finally finish my ISSA training certification and get that CPR cert as well. On top of that, no more drinking (and when I drink I smoke- so no more of that either). Also, I’m going to clean up my bulking diet a bit. Try to cut out some fat for the summer just for sh*t’s and giggles. As far as nutrients, I’ll still be packing my body full of them. I think this extra money from not going to the bar will afford me time to practice guitar and save up for my amp that’s on the way. I let loose for a while… time to get back to business. It’s a matter of being honest with myself, i’m definitely prepared.
