Well……
I did it. I placed 6th..out of 7. I was by far the tallest girl, but they put us all in one class. Probably not the best for me. My goal was to not finish last, which I did accomplish. However, I was fairly disappointed in myself because my posing was not good. That is soooo much harder than it looks!
I thought I had practiced and had it down, but I learned a very valuable lesson, you can’t practice that too much.
I did have a ton of fun however, and met some pretty cool people. All the girls were really nice. I am proud of my friend Kathy who won the show. She is an amazing person, and was so sweet and helpful to me throughout the prep for this show.
I’m already planning on doing another show in Boise in September. I think this experience will definately help me in future shows. My hubby tried to take some pics, but they all turned out pretty dark and blurry. He did get some video and a couple shots that I’m going to post.
I’m taking the week off from the gym…instructions from my coach! I’ll be hitting it hard after that, and will be practice posing ALOT this summer!

Congrats Amy! I’m sure it was irritating they bunched all of you together, but you looked great and you did accomplish your goal. Can’t wait to see how you do this September. Rest up and hit it hard… take care!

Nice work, Amy! I think it is awesome that you did the competition. It takes so much discipline and dedication. I look up to you a ton for what you have accomplished. Wish I could have been there to cheer you on. Hopefully in September, right?!!
Enjoy your week off…and hopefully I’ll see you in gym soon after that!

I was at the show because my sister was doing the womens bodybuilding and I didn’t think you should have placed that low. I thought you were going to be in the top 3. The girl that won should have placed alot lower. I think the judges played a little favorites. Did you see how the pro mens show turned out? They played favorites. Just keep doing what your doing and you will do well in the sport. Maybe even try the womens bodybuilding.

Hey I feel ya I get the same reaction! When I open my mouth people are shocked because I speak well and they I assume I’m going to give them the hand shake that brothas give each other and I just give them the regular hand shake. They say I’m the good guy or you are different, What does that mean? My advice to you and I know you know this…Think outside the box! Its bigger than us! The world wants you to focus on minor issues like the one you encountered or the I had and that keeps us distracted to whats really going on out here! Imagine for a moment…If everybody would become one person what nationality would you be? If you are thinking about it you are still thinking in the box! Who cares about race? Second, If this world is so divided then why do we(all nationalities in the US) Shop, eat, sleep, educate, drive and etc…the same things why not have them separate? We are all connected believe it or not! As for bodybuilding…Persistence got you here,Consistency will keep you here! Good Luck and stay positive…some one is always watching!!…and I don’t mean adults! Be and example not an example!

Hey there…congrats to you. I’m very proud of the progress you made. You could’ve given up at any time and you kept going, pushing yourself and finally placed in a real show. I’ll be looking forward to seeing how you do in your next event. Make sure you keep in touch! -Lorenzo

Thanks for the funny reply! See, I told you I was crooked! You looked great the other day! I haven’t talked to Paige about Sunday, but Jim thinks we should just do it at the house without any mirrors since that’s how it will be on stage….personally, I want the mirrors!
