2nd Place at the Alamo Showdown Classic

October 7, 2008

IMG_2773.JPG

Sigh.  Wish I could say 1st, and got my procard but nope!  Can’t say I’m too dissapointed.  2nd place in my second show ever in the open division is nothing to sneeze at–however, I’m a freak perfectionist–so anything less than 1st makes me think I’ve failed.

I got called 1st in callouts at prejudging–they had us onstage for almost 20 min!  So, it is still up in the air whether I will do tx state or lackland–reasoning is I don’t know if 4 weeks is enough time for me to make some changes.  I WONT be 2nd again.  Plain and simple–judges won’t have a reason to place me lower than 1st.  So I might, might not.  You and I both must wait and see.  I’ll keep ya posted!

Aight peeps–Here’s the skinny–3 weeks out right now.  Egads.  Go time.  I’m feelin it :)   Ready for the showdown.  Some interesting updates I’ll share with you:

1.  Have jacked my shoulder up(left delt, pain located between split of my anterior and medial delt….ouch. Need prayers for supa fast recovery0

2. Had my yearly exam(ladies, you know what I’m talking about). This lady was vicious–she was lucky I had rice before I saw her–or something would’ve gone down.  Bodyfat–around 10.5%? Haven’t checked in a while–need to drop–still at 108.8….so its go time on the cardio.  which i hate–but I will do whateva it takes to be a champ…..AGAIN.:P

3.  I am a beast at the gym–I have freaking vascularity in my quads–yes, you heard right–I look like the plasma jet man–xcept way hotter ;) .  Strength is awesome!  Hasn’t dropped a bit–energy has, but that’s what columbian caffe is for.

4.  Needless to say, I’m ready for this challenge–INBF has a t-walk(lame!  I’m a bodybuilder not a freaking sports illustrated model!)  I’ll strut my girlie stuff–you guys let me know what my best angles are–I’m gonna wow this judges–a second time!

5.  Hope everyone has been doing well–will try to post workouts today–hopefully my shoulder will recover by chest day, or else…..?

Chest and abzzzz

August 28, 2008

So, I finally did it and posted some progress pixs(thanks steph!)  I guess I am and always will be a perfectionist.  So be gentle……JUST KIDDING! Be honest! I need feedback.  I listen to mr passini say every day, "You look good, yep, you look good babe. ….."  UGH!!!!!!! That is his personality though–if something was wrong, he’d tell me for sure.  But you guys can let me know specifics! ;) Moving on:  weight is down to 110.8.  Which is great…I kind of want to maintain…I have 5 more weeks guys, and I will not come in at 102…that is retarded.  I think 105-107 will be a great range.  So hope and pray I don’t lose much more.

Chest and abs in a few, need to eat preworkout and train, then go back to work for a couple of sessions ta night.

I hope you are all doing great! I know I’ve been in a foul mood lately, but I am finally over the hump–so thanks for stickin wit me! Love you guys!!

Eyes on the prize!

Sleepy…leg day!

August 26, 2008

Yes, and yes.  I am sleepy and its leg day–grrreat!  Its good, just need to muster up some energy.  Weight is down to 111, and bodyfat is currently 13.3%  Still feel huge though.  I yell at my clients all the time about patience but I don’t have a lick of my own!  Bad Amber.  6 more weeks till the alamo, and 10 more for tx state?  Don’t know..or remember right now. Brain is FRIED.  Competition dieting = no filter on mouth.  So I’ve been a little vulgar of late–again, bad amber.

So, I’m off to the parmer gym to work out then back to work in round rock at 5–have a couple more sessions lata tonight.  Hope everyone is doing well–my diet is going to be changing slightly–cuttin out some cals to see how my body responds–rather be leaner and fill out then be sol at showtime.

Eyes on the prize………….

Sign of the times…

August 7, 2008

Currently 9 weeks out from the alamo, and 12 weeks away from texas state.  Dieting over a month now, and the changes are there…but slow.  And I mean SLOW. Why you ask? Simple–I am coming down very very slowly–have to keep my muscles full=lots of carbs, but my body is responding to the new nutrient timing my husband has in place.  Started at 120 for my diet, and am currently at 114 on the nose.  Definitely coming in heavier–my off season of 6 weeks was extremely beneficial–gained an inch and a half on my legs and my quads are actually leaner than I was 4 weeks out from the shredder.  Very postive.  Of course, pre-shredder, I had no self image issues…now….I definitely have body dysmorphia.  Still having issues with that-naturally, I’ve always been a perfectionist.  Always.  Can’t live life any differently than going balls out–so that is stressful.  Just remind me guys, that it’s ok I’m not 102 lbs.  That it is ok, I am coming in heavier for this show–meaning, I gained the needed muscle mass.  So, on a more positive note, I’m loosing my boobs. :)

Ha! Hey, its a sign the diet is working and I’m on the right track.  Unfortunately for my husband, he does not like this joyous rapture he hears as I assess the damage.  Still on the fence about implants–can’t give up going heavy on chest-just wouldn’t be right ya know?

Time for todays workout:

Supps:

BCAA’s–Xtend(the BEST btw)
Meals

1 yolk

7 egg whites

1 cup of oatmeal

#2

2 pita’s

3 ounces of turkey

#3

3/4 cup of oatmeal

5 egg whites

#4

post workout shake

grapefruit

#5

5 egg whites

#6

orange roughy–4 ounces

spinach

Chest and abs today.  Energy was def. down.  Hard times at work tryin to change people’s lives.  20 min cardio post workout on treadmill.

Everything is going according to plan…..I just wish it was faster.  ’sigh’  Capt of texas is this weekend…going to scope out the competition for texas state…and cheer on MY FAV girl KL TEXAS!!! She will rock the house!! Please send her well wishes and good vibes for the show.

Happy training!!

And remember:

Coming off the creatine…holy s%$*!

July 16, 2008

DSC_7344_ZEHAPPGBEU.jpgonepiece1.jpgWell, must I elaborate?  Hell, I need to come off it because i’ve been on it since January…JANUARY..yes, I know bad bad bad–don’t have to tell me.  Now is the time though–I need to see where my weight stands without it, because I will be coming in heavier this time…just might mean more food=more carbs than last prep.

And yes, steph, I know I’ve been lax on the progress pixs…give me another week…funny how you come off contest dieting and overall badassness and you STILL look better than 99% of the population but you hate yourself anyway?  Strange.  My normal is NOT normal anymore.  But that is fine–rather be superior than inferior any day.

Alright, off my tangent.  Food is MUCH better these last 2 weeks–finally back on track and comfortable again.  Phew.  Still planning on the alamo, but also looking into texas state in november–will tell you this though–if I am not perfect, I won’t compete.  I can’t accept that–just can’t. Tasted 1st, won’t go back.  NPC scares me a little though–looked at my scoresheets from the shredder: Check this out:

in my 1 piece, I got all 1’s and one 2.

IN my 2 piece, I got 4 1’s a 2, a 3, and a 4.

Conclusion:

MUST GET RID OF ABS…..ugh…at least, that is mine.  Either way, I come in the way I feel I need to–not going to go changing hardcore just to win–just keep on, keeping on.

Almost got all of the pack back..heehe, I rhymed! Then, I PROMISE, pixs will be all yours, all day, every day!

And guys help me out–tell me what YOU think I need to work on–it would be greatly appreciated!!

Train Hard/Or go Home

Ugh….

July 8, 2008

Soooo tired!  Sleepy, angsty, and hungry.  Training is going ok–I am having a hard time trying to find that motivation from within.  On a brighter note, I’ve started more high intensity cardio on the weekends to get my glutes and hammies in tip top shape–ouch!  Not easy to do bleachers and sprints when the only cardio you’ve done in a year is walk the dog!! At least work is getting a lot better–more clients, more sessions,=more money!!  Oh, probably should throw in my workout from yesterday–1st time in a while hubby and I got to do chest–here it is:

hammerstrength incline press 4×15

1–50

2–70

3–90

4–110 for 10 reps

d.bell chest press on stability ball:

4×15

1–30

2–35

3–40

4–45 for 10 reps again..phew! At this point, I was spent

Freemotion push ups 4×10

yep, only ten for 4 sets

 freemotion seated flys:  4×15

1–25

2–30

3–35…

4-…….um, we decided not to include a 4th set. hee!

Today is legs….legzzzz

16 Weeks out….

June 20, 2008

IMG_1318.JPGOh yes, its that time again folks.  That time when I pull out my suits and pose in my kitchen–good times.  At least my appliances are happy:)  Trainer told me I came in super lean for the shredder, so, for this go around, I am for sure going to be around 103-105 for the show.  Definitely hit 10% body fat as well. Was around 11% for the shredder.  Its hard though this time.  How do I beat myself this time?  I never think of other women in the show competing against me.  I always, ALWAYS think about myself–study pictures daily.  Trying to find and pinpoint my weaknesses.  It is damn hard to scrutinize yourself, when you see yourself every day.  I really don’t want to be just a flash in the pan–I wanna be that girl that gets the, "Ooo, she looks like the next monica brant, jenn gates…etc." I know I got lots of work to fill those shoes–but I’ll be damned if they don’t fit just right come showtime.

GAME ON ladies

Minor change in plans: New York anyone??

May 20, 2008

IMG_1339.JPGSo, after careful consideration and a few dos equis(Ha, a say a few, because 1 will get me blitzed–I am a total lightweight–probably because I don’t drink) Daniel and I will be doing the alamo in October…but we will first do a an INBF show in New York–it is a superpro qualifier–meaning, I win 1st in my class, I get my procard. YeeHAW!  It is September 20–mmm about 18 weeks out right now.  So, diet is back to clean officially–started sunday, and it has already made a difference.  I won’t start my cut till around 9 weeks out.  It is bulking time BABY.  I am trying for 120, cut about 10lbs and come in at 110–diced and lean.  I am incorporating more cardio this time during my bulk so I can condition those legs of mine.

Other than that, I pretty much have nothing else on my mind–INBF is hard–it has one of the strictest requirements on being drug free–7 years to be exact–plus, how amazing will it be to say I turned pro naturally?  You guys know how I am though–I put my mind to something, and I won’t stop, until I get it.

May 13, 2008

onepiece.jpg So this is me.  Wow.  Still on cloud 9 and still in awe.  Still stuffed! lol! Yes, feasting has stopped for now.  Time for some serious discussion–mass building time.  I am at 112 right now–precompetition weight.  Which is perfect for me! Bring on the size!  Body fat is still at 13%–so I am very pleased with that–vascularity is still there–sometimes moreso than before.  I have to say, I miss the tan.  But no worries.  On a new split with the mrs er, …Mr. Ahem.  Same one as before, but, adding in 2 exercises for a different body part each workout:

Ex.) Monday is Chest with 2 back exercises, legs with 2 shoulder exercises. etc.

It is IMPERATIVE I gain enough size for my next show–there is no second place for me–I’ve had 1st, and I’m not going back–also, I must win the overall this time–my procard depends on it!  If the shredder had been a superprocard qualifier, I would already have my NPC card. Might do a show in New York with my trainer–me and the hubbs are discussing the possiblity right now.

Did I tell you I’m back on the diet?  OH, it feels so right!  Not that I went too banana sandwich or anything, its just for conditioning purposes I have to be on top of my game, with one cheat meal a week(thanks Dawn Melanie!:))

So, goals for next show are as follows:
THE biggest hamstrings onstage

More thickeness in my back

Lean out my quads more

get to 115 or 120, maintain bodyfat, and come in sicker than before at 110 instead of 102.

Phew! Well guys, I better go eat–time to get swoll at the gym with legs….oh legs…..

PS! Will start training again with Matt asap! Shows wipe you out financially-I think I might rob a small country next show….and I already want new suits! :(
