NEW YORK KEEP US (XPT ME) FAT!!!
I have been saying this for years…
" why do i have to go into the city to be able to have a choice in soy products or have a healthier range of food options??!!"
basically it is until now that this is becoming spread into the media… NYC ritzy areas = healthy supermarkets, all the rest of the borough = chips n dip n soda…

Unfortunately, this story is’t exclusive your area. Here in the BAy, the lower income, underserved neighborhoods have a liquor store on just about every block. Children are buying cheap candy and soda before they even get to school. Now, get into better areas, you have your share of farmer’s markets, chain supermarkets, and specialty markets. But it seems like there are alot of programs popping up to address these issues and some schools are taking these issues more seriously.

the answer is simple, ask the store manager to stock your items. Most will do that. Not enough people ask.

Same thing here. It is getting better, but not enough to stimulate change. Hope you are doing well. You are getting in better shape.

That’s really bad Michelle.. I had no idea it was that way over there! Can’t say it’s that way here, it’s sort of the same everywhere (which also can be boring!).
The thing ther’re discussing here is the prices - vegetables and fruit are expensive, candy is cheap. And the government is talking about "dialog", "communication" and "changes".. they’ve been talking about it for many years, not much is happening. How hard can it be?? "dialog"?? With the vegetables then!
Try ordering it at your local shop or something.. maybe more people will and soon you’ll find it regularly in the stores?
