I did my first triathlon last week. It was fun and painful at the same time. I came in 77th out of 79 but hell leastwise I finished. I am starting to do a little more lifting than I was during the tri training and it is nice to get back to it. I am also trying a new eating program so we will have to see how that goes. Wish me luck.

They think it was just a tension thing so I should be able to get back to the grind soon. I have still been doing light cardio but I want back on the weights.

I was doing heavy leg lifts and decided drop sets would be fun. Well I was so focused on pushing the weight I tightened every muscle in my body and stopped breathing. This induced the worst headache I have ever had. I almost puked. A few days later at work my blood pressure got raised, as can happen in my job, and it all came back. The only difference was I was shaking, sweating and almost passed out. I took a trip to the ER because it would not go away. Well after a CT scan and a spinal tap (took them 4 times to get it right) they said I was just fine. Still don’t know why I had the reaction I did but I have decided to not lift for a week or two. The funny thing is I still want to lift and am pissed I have to take time off. Oh well time for cardio.

Got up at 3:50 am and did a half hour on the bike. It felt good and really got me going. I am at work now and plan on a nice back workout after I get off. I feel better today and am less worried about the scale woes of the other day. I am just trying as hard as I can to stay upbeat and power on.

I am starting to go a little crazy. I have been training very hard and feel good but I am not seeing a difference on the scale. I have not been cheating and I have been careful with my diet. I am getting in all my workouts but I feel like my body is barley moving when it comes to fat loss. I think I look like I have lost some weight and yes some of my clothes are feeling a little looser but dang if this is not frustrating as hell. I guess I will just motor on.

I have made past the first three weeks of consistent training and diet. It is finally becoming more of a habit than something I have to fit in. I had a small food reaction this weekend that affected my digestive system and interrupted my sleeping. I just wasn’t being careful enough. It is amazing what you have to avoid when you can’t eat corn or beef. Even supplementation has become a pain. I have to take all of my supplements out of their capsules and put them in my protein shake. I tell you what, that can really kill the taste. Not that my shakes have that much flavor. I can’t use artificial sweeteners due to the process they are made by which involves corn. I use stevia powder as my sweetener. I am also eating a ketogenic diet and that limits what can go in the shake.
My lifts have great lately. I finally have a lifting partner that shows and I have been able to push some decent weights again. I am doing 8 to 10 reps right now. I want to go heavier with less reps but my trainer (my wife) says its not time yet. I like to DC style of training but I don’t want to get hurt again. I refuse to make one step forward and two steps back as I did in the past. It is nice to have things working out.

I have been back in the gym for a few weeks now and my diet has been good. I regressed into some stress eating during the last part of this week but I am back on track. I have lost about 20 lbs in the last month and feel great for it. I am finally getting my corn allergy under control and it is making a huge difference in the way I feel.
I have been using the Species line of supplements for the last month as well and am very impressed. They really seem to amp my system without making me jittery.
I have been doing a simple 3 day split on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I am lifting for about 45 min and then doing the 20 min Body for Life cardio on a power pacing bike. On Sunday, Tuesday and Friday I am doing 35 min of walking on the treadmill and then doing abs, push ups and some core training. I have felt better over the last few weeks than I have felt in a year. It feels great to be back.

Well this was a great week for me. I was back in the gym and got in all my workouts. My diet was good and is getting better. I am trying a two bodypart 3 day work out. I am doing cardio 5 days. I am trying to keep up on the mental aspect more than anything. I am not sure yet on supplements but I am working it out.

My weight is going up and my motivation is going down. I have not been in the gym for over a week and am having real problems being motivated. This seems to be par for the course in my fitness journey. I am going to the gym tonight and hope I can kick start this thing.

Well I made it three weeks with little problems. I am working a lot of hours but am still making it to gym. I have only lost about 2 pounds but I am still working hard. It is so easy to fall back into the old habits. I have been considering becoming a vegetarian. According to the blood type diet I am not supposed to eat meat. I am just not sure what to do at this point with the diet. I know what not to eat and that has been pretty easy. It is what to eat I have problems with. I do not eat enough and if I get too hungry I have a tendency to go back to eating crap. My lifts have been good. I need to try to run 3 miles to keep on track with my plan to run a triathlon.
