Sleepless, tired & CRANKY

3rd night of little sleep.  Gotta admit I’m peeved.  I was out late for a meeting last night & didn’t get to bed til after 11pm.  Daughter #1 was still having stomach pain/nausea, so she slept in our bedroom so that she could get propped up & more comfortable.  So…….I slept on the couch.  Didn’t sleep well & woke up at 3am again.  On the brighter side, I seem to have thrown off the stomach bug & somehow managed a good workout this morning.  And today is my 14th wedding anniversary.  Hope I don’t fall over face first into my dinner plate tonight zzzzzzzz………..

WORKOUT TODAY—  LATS  (7-10 reps, 45-60 sec’s rest):

3 sets each:  1 dropset on 2nd set, 2 dropsets on 3rd set.

–  Close grip lat cable pulls

–  Bentover barbell rows

–  Close grip lat cable pulldowns

–  Bentover dumbbell rows

CARDIO:  22 min’s HIIT on the elliptical, heartrate 155-175.  Then 13 min’s of LIIT, heartrate 150-155.

ABS:  3 sets of leg raises.  Then 3 sets of crunches with 25 lb wt, with 1 dropset on 2nd set & 2 dropsets on 3rd set.

ON DECK:  Chest tomorrow & legs on Friday.  A day of reckoning cometh…….better get some sleep if I’m to survive these to the weekend………

Just getting to the gym IS a successful workout!   :D

Good workout for the way your feeling. Congrats on 14 years!
Do you normally sleep good or are you just having trouble because of the bug thing going round? I normally can’t sleep period which is why I stay on the sofa, but I was given a suggestion by fitclubmom (aka super Kim) of trying 3-5g of a GABA and a dose of (forgive the spelling on this as my bottle is at home) Melatonin(?) I have been using about 2 weeks, and it actually seems to help (a little) but it is helping. Feel better sonn (you and the little ones)

Sleep is so over rated… lol… 14 years huh? Tell the Squidette I feel her pain and send my condolences… :)

Hang in there bro… the creeping crud is only temporary, the benefits from that workout will last a whole lot longer…

Awesome workout Al. Sorry to hear that you’re not getting much sleep… I can normally deal well with most things, but lack of sleep isn’t one of them, I feel your pain…

  7. DivaInPink Says:

Congrats on your wedding anniversary! Try to stay awake and enjoy your evening. Being sleepy is no fun. Not only does that mess up your day but zaps your workout as well. Maybe you can get a good night sleep. Although I would suspect that the evening of your anniversary is not the night you want to go to bed early………….

    Sleep eludes you often :-(

    Congratulations on your 14th :-)

    Happy anniversary!!

Sorry to hear about your daughter not feeling well, but glad that you have overcome whatever you had and that you had a great workout today besides being tired :) Awesome job as usual!

Thanks for the link to the article — we actually learned about ghrelin and leptin in class for a previous exam.. very interesting stuff! Mice respond to leptin very well actually (satiety hormone released from adipose tissue) but humans don’t.. gives some insight to maybe why obesity is an epidemic haha
