Cookies & Trifectas

Daughter #1 comes into the bedroom last night after I went to bed to announce she had tossed her cookies.  LOTS of expelling, and to be precise, it was yesterday’s pizza, not cookies.  Fun. I didn’t sleep well after that & was awake at 4am.  Oh well, life happens.  On the workout front, I’m going with 3’s……..3 sets per exercise with dropsets as noted below.  Had a good workout, but feeling a little "iffy"……hope I didn’t catch that stomach bug.

WORKOUT TODAY—  SHOULDERS  (7-10 reps, 45-60 sec’s rest):

—  Military press  (3 sets.  1 dropset on 2nd set, 2 dropsets on 3rd set.)

—  Lateral raises  (3 sets.  1 dropset on 2nd set, 2 dropsets on 3rd set.)

—  Overhead dumbbell press  (3 sets.  1 dropset on 2nd set, 2 dropsets on 3rd set.)

—  Front raises  (3 sets.  1 dropset on 2nd set, 2 dropsets on 3rd set.)

CARDIO:  35 min’s of intervals on the elliptical.  Heartrate 155-170.  I tried starting off with sprints on the treadmill, but the right calf gave warning that it still wouldn’t hold up.  I’m going to nix running sprints for a few months.  Tired of trying & not being able to with the calf strain.  It’ll be the elliptical, bike & stairmaster for awhile.

ABS:  Crunches with 20 lb wt.  (3 sets.  1 dropset on 2nd set, 2 dropsets on 3rd set.)

Just getting to the gym IS a successful workout!   :D

    Hurling pizza……no bueno.

The only thing worse from my kids was when the older one was about 6 or 7 and ate three hot dogs. Wow. Just sat in my favorite recliner and spewed all over himself and the chair. When he stood up, there on my chair was the perfect outline of his body in pink hot dog hurl.

    I haven’t touched a hot dog since.

I read this post and TheCrab’s comment as I munched on a banana. I’m glad I have a strong stomach!

Crab: When daughter #1 was about 2 yrs old, I came home from work & knelt down on my knees to give her a big ole hug. She hurled (more like a volcanic explosion) all over me, including the face. Fortunately I didn’t hurl back…..

Al, and at 2 that stuff isn’t just the sour milk deal, that has the potential to be real YAK!

Hopefully you had your eyes and mouth closed……..

Our first was only 6 months old and I was on my way out of town for an extended business trip. First since his birth. My wife was a little shaky at the time as neither of us had left the baby’s side in the 6 months since his birth. I give her and him a peck on the cheek, grab my bag and walk out the door and he starts blowing like a fire hose. By the time he finished I was already in the car headed down the road. Tough, tough few days for momma.

You know you’re getting old when you start telling ‘child barf’ stories and you smile a little…

I just read your comment to Crab and I LMAO. A coupld of years ago, I came home after getting my hair done and I was feeling all cute and stuff. My youngest was sitting in my husband’s lap while watching TV and I was told he wasn’t feeling well. I sat down with him and he said, "Mommy" and then threw up ALLLL over me (my hair, side of my face, down my front and back). I wasn’t feeling all cute and stuff after that.

I hope your daughter is feeling better soon and that you don’t catch the bug!

I was going to add my own baby barf story to this thread, but after reading all the comments, I think Shan and TheCrab have that angle more than covered…
