Veterans: THANK YOU
Tuesday, November 11th, 2008Thank you to all the men & women who have served, or are currently serving our Nation in the military. Thank you also to your families, who sacrifice along with you through deployments, uncertainty & moving to new duty stations. If you know someone who is a vet, or someone who is active military, take a moment to thank them.
I think about the WWII generation of vets that are passing, since my father passed last December. Saving Private Ryan was a movie that hit home a lot with me, since my father survived WWII, but had lots of friends & comrades who didn’t make it. My dad was a B-17 bomber pilot, and was shot down over Germany in December 1944. He spent the rest of the war in a German POW camp. I’m very grateful for his generation, as well as the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War I, and many other vets who’ve sacrificed; and the many who made the ultimate sacrifice, and did not come back home to their families. THANK YOU.
