A new program
Tuesday, May 13th, 2008So Im writing about this new program as a way of keeping myself motivated and tracking how I feel and the results I get. Ive started a program based on the P|RR|S (Power, Rep Range, Shock) system because I hit a platuae three months ago and couldnt break it. Ive done a lot of varied training over the years so time to shake it up. Day 1 & 2 - Chest/Bis and Legs. Power Week. Heavy sets, lots of rest, plenty of overload. Ive trained like this before under MAX-)T so I was familiar with the concepts. I perhaps wasnt expecting the after effects though haha. Chest/Bi day wasnt too bad, but driving home afterwards was tough.. that feeling of not even being able to reach for he seat belt without having to turn your whole body becaus your arms are so wrecked.
Legs day wasnt much better, dont get me wrong though its a awesome feeling to need to sit in the locker room for 5 mins becuase your legs are just numb. By the time I got home and scoffed 1/2doz egg omlette and I was sitting there pretty spaced out.
Tonight is rest day, tomorrow I hit back and Friday Shoulders and Tris. Next week comes the Rep Range week.
The best thing about the power week is you leave wondering if you’ve really done enough, as you dont have that massive pump.. but the day after you know you’ve done it when you need to use both arms to help you sit down
