One week out… …and so the FUN begins

Good day everyone!!  Thanks for viewing my body blog.

So being a newby to this whole competition scene I was given my last week prep list by my trainer last night.  I have got to say that after reviewing what I have to put myself through this week I have that much more respect for all of you people who do this on a yearly basis.  Not to say I didn’t have the respect before, but now getting down to doing this myself I’ve gained that much more respect…

Not only do I have to pretty much drown myself in spring water (tap water is not allowed) I have to eat PLAIN chicken, PLAIN tuna and say bye-bye to my free foods (I was allowed to snack on pickles and fresh tomatoes to increase the volume of my meals if I needed). Ouch!  I also get to kiss goodbye any spices, condiments, or lemon juice.  And…. not only that, I get to rub myself in Preperation H and sleep in a saran wrap suit.  Oh joy!!

There is, however, a light at the end of this tunnel…  Friday I get to eat rib steak, all the peanut butter I can stomache and starting at 9pm I get to shovel in as much cheesecake (no berries or crust though) as I want.  Woo Hoo!!  The day of the show is comprised of rib steak, cheesecake and caramel rice cakes.  Now the question is, "Am I looking forward more to the show or to eating the day of the show?"  ha ha.  Nope, still looking more forward to the show.  A person can eat anything anytime, this only happens once a year.

Anyways, that’s about it so far.  I can tell already this is going to be one of the hardest and most exhausting weeks of my life so far, but I guess as the saying goes…  "No Pain, No Gain"  And now it’s off to paint myself in Preperation H to help rid my body of some excess water and off to bed in saran wrap pajamas.  All the best to all of you competitors and happy training!!

Just Need to Vent

Good evening everyone!  Just needed a bit of time to vent today…

I hit the gym again today (just like every other day) but I’m really starting to get irritated by how busy the gym is getting…

I’ve found in the past few months my workouts are somewhat mediocre and about 1 in every 10 is a GREAT workout.  I don’t know what it is…  I give credit to those who are there to workout, see results, or there just to keep a healthy lifestyle but seriously, it’s crazy how many people are packed into my gym these days.  Not only that, it’s irritating when people are on the machines or using the free weights and just stand there chatting to people.  I’m sure a few of you can relate.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still got the motivation to work my butt off, but it’s getting harder and harder the busier the gym is getting to find a machine or even freeweights…  ARG!!  Guess it may be time for a gym change.  If you’re in the Edmonton area I’d love any suggestions about a great gym to go to that’s not overly busy.  Club fit is where I’m at now, but it’s getting crazy and even the trainers don’t seem to have the time to give any attention.  All I wanted done was a body fat analysis (which I know only takes a few minutes) but now I have to wait DAYS as I needed to book an appointment.  YEESH!!

*sigh* Well that’s it…  Just needed to get that off my chest.  I guess it’s time to suck it up and figure it out for myself.  I’d hate to have to go somewhere else because of the friendship and support I get from other members at my gym, but at what point is it time to move on???  I guess time will tell…  :)

Preperation for my First…

Good evening everyone!  Again thanks for all the compliments and constructive criticism…

I’ve been seeing a nutritionist for 1 month now and things are going great!!!  Dropped a few inches and a few pounds and gained a bit more in muscle mass…

I’ve decided I’m gonna go for it…  Go for what? you may ask…  I’m gonna do my damnest to train and prep for the upcoming Figure Competition in June…  YAY!!  I’m really looking forward to it!!

I’ll upload some progress pics in a bit.  I’ve started tanning again (just started a few days ago) so I’m still quite pastey right now and would not want to assume any liability by blinding any of you with my whiteness…  LOL.

Anywhooo…  Thought I’d provide a bit of an update, and progress pics are to follow shortly…

Until then, keep on training and PUSH IT!!   :)

Working on Nutrition

Hello Everyone!  Thanks again for the compliments.

I’m still hitting the gym as hard as ever but I’ve recently dedicated myself to eating clean to overcome the plateau i’ve hit.  Trying to get rid of this massive sweet tooth is tough but hopefully it’s going to pay off in the long run.  I’ve stopped tanning for the time being but once we get a little closer to Spring & I’m seeing results again I’ll probably head back.

Still not sure if I want to compete, my Nutritionist thinks I could do well, but I’ve heard good and bad things about it and would love some input from those of you who have.  I’d really appreciate some feedback.

Anyhow, I don’t have much time right now to write, just thought I’d put a little effort in blogging seeing as though it’s been over a year (i think) since I’ve written anything.  I’ll post pictures once my pastey ass is back tanning & my dedication to nutrition starts paying off.  Until then, keep up the good work everyone!!

Quick Update

Hey all!  Thanks to all of those who have left such kind comments.  I’m pretty busy between 2 jobs so I don’t have much time to do catching up…  I’m still working my ass off at the gym and am happy to be back tanning again.  As you can see from the photos the myth proves true that tanning makes ya look better and leaner.  Pics will follow soon.  I hope you are all doing well and thanks for browsing my Profile!!  Al the best in your fitness endeavours!!  - Adele

Just A Little Confused

So the last time I logged in to Bodybuilding.com I was stalking 2 people, which was correct.  Now everytime I log in I’m stalking 9 people and have about 17 people in my fan club.  If I try to add the people in my fanclub as mutual friends it says they are already on my friends list…

Anyone else have this problem or am I alone in this??
