Ok, so I know I’m not real articulate, but bare with me here would you please.
I was listening to the BBC world news and they started talking about health care and health care reform. It’s my understanding that it’s the president’s honorable intention to see that every American has heath care insurance available to them. Great! I think that’s wonderful, how ever… If the costs of this plan are to be paid for by government funds then the people who utilize it need to make some lifestyle changes to reduce their health care needs. They need to stop using tobacco, alcohol and drugs. They need to clean up their diets and stop eating and drinking junk foods. Diabetes is at an all time high and so is obesity. I would guess that many health issues could be resolved if people would take better care of their bodies and what they ingest.
Makes me mad to think people are whining about health care but are not willing to do anything themselves to improve there personal health. They sit in bars, drinking, smoking, eating crap food then complain about their health and not having health care insurance. Come on people step up to the plate, and I’m not talking about the dinner plate. You can’t destroy your body by eating unhealthy foods, consuming alcohol, drugs and tobacco then expect the government to come along and pay for your stupidity. I mean how many of you are mad about all the CEO’s who drove the market into the ground and now expect and depend on the government to “Bail them out” Your doing the same thing by eating that crap food, smoking those dumb cigarettes, drinking that nasty alcohol and using those drugs. Get up off the couch, work and workout. Eat and apple instead of an apple pie. Eat an orange instead of drinking processed orange juice. Drink water or skim milk instead of soda. There is so much you can do to improve your own health and health care.

With global warming, world hunger, energy consumption, and other environmental issues at the forefront of news and concern these days I believe it is an appropriate time to address over population.
In 1798 Malthus correctly predicted the results of over population. “Food, he believed, would increase in arithmetic ratio (2-4-6-8-10 and so on), but population tended to double in each generation (2-4-8-16-32 and so on) unless that doubling was checked either by nature or human prudence. According to Malthus, nature’s check was “positive”: “The power of population is so superior to the power of the earth to produce subsistence for man, that premature death must in some shape or other visit the human race.” The shapes it took included war, epidemics, pestilence and plague, human vices, and famine, all combining to level the world’s population with the world’s food supply. The only escape from population pressure and the horrors of the positive check was in voluntary limitation of population”
So what can we do? What we can’t do is tell people how many children they can have. I wish we could but it just won’t fly, people are too selfish and caught up in their rights and their freedoms, not what is good for the earth and the rest of society. So what we have to do is encourage people to practice restraint and reward them for having smaller families. At present we are doing just the opposite, the more dependents you have the bigger tax break you get. I mean that is just backwards if you ask me. Why give a tax break to larger families who are going to utilize more public services then smaller families, just doesn’t make sense to me.
I don’t really have a lot of insight on it but currently in the social services and welfare departments, the more children you have the more money you get. I mean I understand that with more children come more cost, but we really need to discourage people from having more children just to increase their monthly checks.
I am amazed every time I hear someone tell me, admit, that they don’t work because their social security, disability, welfare check or unemployment check will reduce. Or they are unconcerned about becoming pregnant because they know the cost of having the child will be paid for by public assistance and in the end it will just increase their government check. So they don’t take the precaution they normally would if they had to bare the responsibility themselves.
I am asking that you please consider a tax measure that would encourage and reward people who have small families. I believe a reducing the current population or at lest holding it at current levels would improve the quality of life for everyone. Like many things, “quantity is not as important as quality.” By reducing demand we could reduce pollution, energy consumption, hunger, disease and reduce the demand on water and food supplies.
The U.S. is known throughout the world for its decadence and excess. I would like to see our country known for its prudence.
Thank you for your time and any consideration you can give to this proposal

So I was at work last night listening to the BBC World news and again they were talking about another group of people found beheaded in Mexico. It seems like at least once a month if not once a week someone is getting their head cut off in that country by some drug cartel. This time the incident occurred in the tourist town of Acapulco and at least some of the people beheaded were military personnel. Their bodies were found close to the military base and their heads were dumped near a shopping center.
I guess this kind of stuff happens all the time in Mexico and God knows what else. It appears that the drug cartels have more control and power in Mexico then the official government. I don’t solely blame the Mexican government or its citizens for these atrocities, as the main consumer of drugs from Mexico I blame the American people and our Government. Every time someone in America purchases a drug that has come from Mexico they are funding a murderer, rapist and thief. If you a drug user, Way to go there Buddy, you have blood on your hands. You think your so cool smoking your pot or meth, taking your speed and snorting your cocaine. You think you’re not hurting anyone? Think again! Chances are someone was killed in the delivery of your pathetic drug.
Some years ago I remember hearing a story where a child was stolen in an airport, killed, gutted and the body filled with dugs in an attempt to smuggle the drugs through.
Think about that the next time you get high. Just one more reason I have an intense hatred for dugs and the people who use them.

Wow, the health care issue! Well, I tell you what, the thought of any child going without medical treatment because of cost is just unacceptable and should never happen.
Now with that said I’m not real hip on the idea of my insurance benefits being taxed! Yeah sure I’ve heard the argument that the fortunate need to make a sacrifice for the less fortunate. And if it was as simple as that I would say ok, but it’s not. Some people fit into that less fortunate category because of their life choices, because of repeated bad decisions. I know some people who have been hired to good jobs with benefits but lost them just because they were too lazy to get out of bed and to work on time, should I make sacrifices for their laziness? Some people loose jobs to alcoholism and drug abuse. Some people just seem to resent authority in their lives and can’t make it in the work place. Whose fault is that? Certainly not mine so why should I give up a hard earned benefit to help them when they were unwilling to help themselves?
Then there is the issue of, Ok I’m making a sacrifice for them what kind of sacrifice to they have to make?” I mean you shouldn’t ever get something for nothing, it’s just bad business and leads to abuse and laziness. If I’m going have my health benefits taxed to help other people then they need to help themselves too. Help them selves by making healthy life choices. In my minds eye the people who are receiving this freebee healthcare should not be able to smoke, drink alcohol, use drugs, and eat unhealthy, empty calorie, fat saturated, processed food. They shouldn’t be able to continue polluting their bodies with theses detrimental items, getting fat and diabetic and then expecting the tax payer to pay for their medical care. That’s just dumb. They shouldn’t be able to pop out one child after another, aggravating their financial hardship and expecting the tax payer to cover all the costs associated with having a child. It’s just crazy!!
Anyway that’s my take on it.
