Global warming can lick my frozen bean bag

Its now officially the 3rd coldest winter since measurements have been taken here in Alaska. 9 days straight below -10 here in Anchorage. Its been too cold to snow! Every morning I get up its been -18 and by the time I get home its already -15. Hell my Husky has no desire to go outside. I dont want to leave the bed anymore!

-18 and no end in sight

This has been a long cold ugly winter so far. -18 this morning preventing me from getting out of bed at 5am and heading to the gym. This afternoon I will hit the bike for a 30-45min HIIT session. I am going to start doing that for the first 4 weeks to see if I get some results.

Well now that the hot part of our day is over! It should drop to at least -15 tonight. Last night I had to deal with my 3 dogs trying to get outside at a cow moose. I dont think they would know what to do once they got anywhere near one. My puppy Diesel barks like hes all of 3 lbs. Funniest thing you have ever seen. I cant wait for this winter to be over already. Only 5 more months to go.

Looking forward to the new year

Ive always been a bigger guy. About 10 years ago I went from being Chubby to being more muscle with a little bit of stomach fat. This year I am going to dedicate myself to being closer to shredded. I am currently 255 and pudgy. I will be down to 220-215 by Dec. I dont care about muscle loss at this point. I am just going to do the HIIT and maybe some Xfit type of exercises to keep the muscles worked.

Heres to being one of "those" guys starting anew on the 1st!

Post Turkey day

Well its Monday and I don’t want to be out of bed. But I woke up at 3 am and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I got up and went to the gym at 5 am. Hopefully I will be able to make it through the day.

It snowed 12" over the last 2 days. Good stuff. Im ready for spring

Fun weekend- NOT

Monday, November 24th, 2008

So I exit work on Thurs and head for the gym. On the treadmill I get a cramp in the stomach area. By the time I got home I felt like death. So I hit the hay early, like 5pm. I wake at 9 just in time to sprint to the bathroom and dry heave for 10 min. I guess I was going to get my ab workout in! So I spent the night and next day with a fever. It sucked- I felt like hell. I didnt eat anything from noon Thursday until after 9pm on Friday and even then I regretted it. I never got a chance to hit the scale. But today is the day.

Today I hit the treadmill/Bike hard then hit the weights again. I am gonna be beat by the end of the week.

Re-Beginning

Ive been working out for over 10+ years and have some good muscle tone to show for it. At my biggest I am 5′9" 265lbs. I had 29" thighs and 20" arms. But I was not happy. I still carried too much fat. Even at 15%. At 265 thats 40lbs of fat. I was tired quickly and couldnt do too much before I was wore out. So I decided that I needed to slim down. I have been in good shape at 230. That was me trying to conserve muscle while doing lots of cardio. My legs suffered massively, going down to a 22-23" and losing lots of their shape. But I felt much better and my size 38 pants were falling off me. I generally have to get 38-40 wide cut just to fit my legs. Even at this lower weight the 34" were too small in the thigh.

Its been years since Ive seen abs… Id love to find them again! I have got to stick to my diet- Drink much much less beer and keep at it in the gym. I have got to do this because I feel like crap and look like crap.

I will be posting pics soon- and weighing in once a week, on Friday.

The Plan-

12-18 weeks

Cardio 5x a week (min 30 min 3.5mph walk) (Max 30min stair stepper and 30 min bike high intensity)
Weights 3-5x a week (medium weight high reps for 4 weeks)(heavy weight low reps 4 weeks)(medium/high 4 weeks)

Food- I really need to work on this section. Preparing food is tough when I also need to cook for a family of 4. I am really going to search around for some good plans and see what I can put together. Really going to put the beer in the corner and enjoy the time it has to mature.

Supplements- Just lipo 6- Vaporise- L-Carnatine, Protein powder.
