As I type this blog, I am excited because prejudging is over. I had such a good time on that stage yesterday. I honestly feel like Yorton Cup show was harder than this show. I look at every show as gaining on the job training. I feel like if I can’t have fun while out there then it’s time for me to stop competing.

Finals are this evening, there are 13 in my class. I hoping I placed in the top 10. I want to win every show I’m in but as I said in my last blog, as long as I keep looking better and better, those are milestones for me. My long term goal is to keep my weight around 145-150 and then compete at 135 or less. I’ll keep you posted with an update for my placing in the finals this evening!

Ok, so here’s the update from the show this past weekend. I placed 5th in Yorton Cup Nationals. Would I have liked to place higherof course…who doesn’t? However when I look at the overall picture, I did the following:

1. My body looked better than the previous year;

2. I was tighter and leaner;

3. My posing was on point;

4. My back has made significant progress and;

5. Last year I didn’t even place in the top 5.

So with those accomplishments I can’t complain. All I can say is what do I have to be sad about when I have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. I have decided for my 2010 competition year if God sees fit, I’m healthy and no injuries, I am only competing in shows that I am able to obtain my pro card. Yes those shows will be harder however I have to continue to raise the bar if I want to be taken seriously in this sport. I don’t need any more prep shows at this point. All I need is time to condition my body the way I want. I haven’t looked at the 2010 contest season yet.

I look forward to getting this on and crackin’! As I stated on my home page under contests, "THEY CAN’T KEEP DENYING ME MY PRO CARD FOREVER".

Hi Everyone and Happy Friday!

Hope you are great! Question, it’s 7 days in a week why do we get overly excited for 2 of those days (Sat and Sun)?

So…I was up at 5 at the gym at 6 doing my cardio. I’m really pushing to try to get cardio in 2x a day 3x per week. Fridays are the hardest considering my express spin class is on Thursday nights and yesterday’s class seemed so much harder…but I made it throught to the end. I probably will have to take it easy on the running, my knees are starting to hurt when I walk up steps. I guess that’s what happens when you run 15 -20 miles a week. I refuse to say it’s my age or arthritis.

I’m finally getting to eating! When you are a schedule to eat it gets hard at times. My co-workers come in with pizza. I try not to get mad it’s not their fault. I just keep saying to myself pro card. But damn it I want that pizza! LOL. I’m seriously thinking about acupuncture to take away my cravings for junk food…yes I’m human I get cravings.

I can’t wait to get out of here early so I can head to the gym for more cardio and a total body workout. I realized the other day that I am now in the gym 7 days a week. Fridays used to be my off day…not anymore. You have to sacrifice sometimes in order to obtain your ultimate goal. Now if I could sacrifice buying shoes…that’s another story

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Hi BB.com

Hope your blessed, highly favored, happy and working out!

It’s Thursday technically but in my mind it’s Friday Eve..it’s a mental thing for me. Think about when your were a kid and Christmas Eve came…you got excited and amped! *smile*

Anywho, how’s your training going? Diet? Cardio?

I have changed up my routine…I have incorported an express spin class twice a week. Man oh man…can I tell you this is my legs are on fire for 30 minutes…it’s an intense cardio but I love it!! I can see new muscles in my legs that I couldn’t see before. The goal for me over these next weeks is C-O-N-D-I-T-ING! lol! As well as adding the spinning, I have added cardio twice a day 3x a week with a light workout, and I added a hour of cardio once a week…

I hoping this all pays off…I am my own worst critic. I really have to learn to stop being so hard on myself. (I’m extremely hard on myself).

I work back and shoulders at minimum 2x a week since my upper body is not a developed..thanks mom for the small shoulders! LOL! It just makes me work harder. I just have to remember this is only year 2 of me competing and with each show I look better and better. I’ll so excited when I peak at my conditioning…

Anywho I’m at work let me finish working…Could I please just do what I love 24/7..working out, inspiring others, teach what I’ve learned to others and always remain true to myself. You must speak nothing but positivity and goodness into the universe…

Hi Everyone!!

Hope you’re doing well and as always…hope you are blessed, highly favored, and happy no matter what!!! I hope you have been working out, eating clean, and staying motivated.

It’s been a while since I’ve written a post. Due to work and time contraints it’s difficult to jump on here and tell my life’s story..just kidding

So what has Megs been up to since my last post you may ask? Well…..

After my disappointing placement in the show in May I gave up competing…HA YEAH!!! RIGHT!! I competed this past Saturday 8.29.09 in OCB Mid-Atlantic and I am very pleased to say I placed 1st in Novice. I didn’t win the overall however I will take 1st place…I feel like I have redeemed myself from May’s placing and my body looks 80% better than it did in May as well. I give praises to God above to give me the perserverance to keep pushing… I got 2nd in the Open class…I’m on my nemesis’ heels in trying to get 1st in the Open class…(she’s my nemisis in my head…makes push myself harder on working back). I also received my 2nd trophy for Best Figure Presentation since beginning my competing career in 2008; and I received 2nd for Fitness Model…overall it was Great Day!!!

I had my little cheat meal…I’m not deviating too much since I am competing in November…my goal for next 10 weeks is to work on my conditioning and my upper body. I know I can do it just may have to tweak some things in the diet. Anywho, have a wonderful day!

Oh I uploaded pics from Saturday too!

I’m just happy to workout pain free; if there is such a thing. LOL!

Have a great a weekend and stay tuned!

Hi Everyone,

Hope your training hard and enjoying life!! What have I been up to you may be asking yourself? Well, I’m still training but what else is new . This past Sunday I was doing cardio (have to get my miles in) and as always I incorporate interval training. In the midst of doing my sprints, I strained my hamstring…I was in full stride; knees lifted and running hard and then that’s when it happened. The knot in my hamstring followed by immense pain. UGH! I went down luckily not too hard…Thank you God. It’s not too bad now however on Sunday, I was afraid to walk…when I got home, I iced my leg and propped it up. I didn’t do cardio on Monday just to let my leg rest and extra day. I still worked out just with some modifications. I did cardio yesterday, I was able to use the elliptical for 30 minutes without feeling anything. This morning I rode the bike for 30 minutes; the only downside is that I don’t want to increase the levels yet for fear of agitating the strain. The bright side of this, I can walk, I am still able to work out, I can still do cardio even though it may not be at the intensity I may want…as long as I can sweat and get my heart rate up that’s what matters. Tonight is my leg night…now how this is going to go, I have no idea. I know I am not going to lift heavy and my leg will be wrapped up. I will definitely have to post tomorrow to let you know if I survived my leg workout..WOW I haven’t used survived since I started working out hard…LOL!! But hey everything happens for a reason, I’ll get through this and I’m definitely not going to let it bring my spirits down. So be blessed, be encouraged, know that things may not always go right, however the storm always passes with faith and prayer. Love ya’ll for reading…stay tuned!!

Sorry no pictures from the show yet..the pictures my girlfriend took…let’s just say I don’t know what she was doing with the camera. LOL!

Anywho, I’m still training, that never stops. I’ve been eating clean with a cheat day once a week. I’ve been cooking like crazy lately…I found some great recipies in Oxygen magazine…guys I know you don’t read that but it’s a great magazine especially for recipies. Oh and clean eating has some great stuff too!

Yesterday I cooked for 3 hours making enough food for the week! Hmmm let’s see I made cajun shrimp, chicken stir fry, pasta rollups, strawberry spinach salad; I even made the salad dressing and curry chicken salad. I wanted to make my chocolate meringues…low fat and low in sugar of course! After all that I was tired damn it! LOL!

Anywayz, I hope y’all have been doing great! I attached the links to 3 of the recipies I used yesterday, and they are some kind of good! Have a great day!!
