Here I sit….Don’t really know what to write.  Not much has changed in the last few days.  I’ve talked to some great people and made some new friends.  I’ve had a lot of different questions asked in the past week.  I’ve given out a lot of advice.  My goal with being on BodySpace is to show the average guy that he can look how ever he wants and doesn’t have to sacrifice everything to do it.  I’d be willing to talk to anyone that has questions about how I got from where I was to where I am now.  I used to think that you had to eat, sleep and breathe bodybuilding to be in any kind of respectable shape.  I am your average guy that works an average 8-5 job.  I literally sit at a desk all day and search the internet looking for different types of engineers and other people with technical abilities that want to go to work for military defense companys or automotive companys.  My job is quite rewarding, but it’s just an average job.  My desk job has it’s advantages though.  I am able to eat when I want to/ need to.  The one thing I’m crazy about is getting in all my meals throughout the day.  It’s important to me to make sure I get in my 5-8 meals.  If you can eat clean, live an average life, not over do the dumb shit (drinking, etc) and you can make it to the gym 3-4 days a week….You’ll be set.  You have to want to do it.  Don’t let it become a chore.  Let fitness become just another part of your daily, average life.

A new week

Monday, April 9th, 2007

This past weekend I spoke with so many great people.  BB.com has done great things in bringing people together to discuss fitness and how to acheive the "perfect" body.  I’ve made a lot of new friends answered a lot of questions and gave out the best advice I could.  After spending the weekend doing that it really got me thinking about how I could do this full time.  I always said if I could take bodybuilding and fitness and turn it into my full time job, that would be my dream.  What’s better than taking something you absolutely love and making it your job.  I’m definitely open to suggestions.  If anyone has any please let me know.

Other than that I got back to training yesterday.  I did chest, shoulders and tri’s.  I had a good workout.  Even though it was a holiday weekend I managed to get all my meals in and eat right.  I have 2 more weeks of bulking before I begin my diet.  I’ll be honest and tell you that I’m looking forward to getting back on my diet.  Eating all these carbs, I thought, would make me more energetic, but it’s making me a little more sluggish in the mornings.  It’s like I can’t get enough sleep, no matter how much I try.  And when I’m dieting I can get 6 hours and wake up feeling great.  All the snow we’re getting here doesn’t seem to help much with motivation either.

Another Great Day

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

Wow, Friday was very awesome.  I got my profile featured on BB.com’s main page.  To me, that’s just about the biggest honor.  Since that time I’ve spoken with so many cool people and have been asked all kinds of advice.  It’s times like this that make me want to strive for more in the bodybuilding/ fitness industry.  People have been giving me a lot of love and I appreciate that more than you know.  Thank you to everyone that reads my blog.  Thank you to BB.com for featuring me and thank you to everyone that has been supportive and left nice comments.

Now, I’m about to hit the gym in a few.  Tried to go yesterday but it was Good Friday and the gym closed early.  Nothing pisses me off more than when my schedule gets messed up.  I try to keep my life as much like Groundhog Day as I can.  Well as far as training and my meals are concerned.  I’m still sticking to my high carbs and medium protein and low fat diet.  As of today I’m only bulking for another 2 weeks and then it’s time to mini diet.  By the time my mini diet is done it’ll be beach time and I’ll be looking right. I’d say I should diet now, but in Michigan we are sitting under another blanket of snow.  :(   Perhaps moving somewhere warm is in my future.  Maybe VA or back to GA?  Who knows.  It’s not a bad idea though.

Still Hittin it hard!

We are nearing 2 weeks since my first show.  Yeah, my diet has eased up a bit.  I have added a protein shake or 2.  I’m eating a lot of sweet potatoes.  I’m really using this rebound time well and bulking up.  I’m not hitting cardio like I should right now, but again I am bulking.  I’m bulking for 4 weeks and then I’m going to hit a 4 week mini diet and that’ll take me into June.  Over the summer I would like to just maintain and look good.  I want to steadily put on size while keeping my body fat low.

As far as my workouts go….Things couldn’t be better.  I’m hitting PR’s left and right.  Anyone that knows me knows that my legs aren’t my strong suit….but yesterday I hit a PR for 405lbs on the hack squat for 8 reps.  That may not be a lot to some and might be a ton to others….but dammit, I felt good doing it.  I’m spending the next few months blasting my chest and legs.  I want to bring both out to where I know they need to be.  I’ll post pics as my bulking cycle ends.

Back at it

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Ok, I took last week off for the most part.  I was still hitting it hard in the gym and I was still eating what I needed to eat.  BUT, I pretty much ate whatever I wanted on top of it.  I still haven’t done cardio in about 2 or 3 weeks.  Do I miss it?  Yeah, tons!  LOL  I don’t miss it at all.  That doesn’t mean I won’t have my ass in there tomorrow morning back at it.  It was nice to eat what I wanted last week.  It made me feel guilty as hell though.  I would eat something bad and instantly feel fat.  It’s terrible.  Not only that, but when you rebound after a contest, you retain a TON of water.  I’ve looked bloated for about a week now.  It’s hard to go from looking like a fitness model one week to looking like a "before" picture the next.  That’s really the best way I can describe it.  I’m taking 4 weeks and I’m going to carb up and bulk.  Then I’m going on a 4 week mini diet.  By then it’ll be warm and be summer time and I’ll be looking right.  I’m looking forward to working my way up to the middle 200’s.  I’ll keep yall updated as to how it’s going….
