"Trade in my Full Barrel for a cool lookin' six pack and people do just fine with ONE CHIN... I don't need two! Give up eating after 10pm and need "just do it"! (can I say that here w/o getting sued by Nike?)"

Story Now …. PICS at 11 (as in eleventh month… November)!

Well here goes… EVERYTHING (I hope). Over the next 6 months I plan to transform this Ed Asner look-alike body, okay, for those of you too young to remember the Mary Tyler Moore Show, how about Homer Simpson look-a-like body, does that help?, into one that I can be proud of and actually see my own toes by looking down and not by using a full length mirror.

I began my journey back to better health about 4 weeks ago. Starting out each morning for about 10 to 15 minutes doing warm up stretching and light calisthenics OR when the pot of coffee is done brewing. So far I actually have lost nearly 10 pounds and Im very happy with my progress so far.

Now 10 pounds doesn’t sound like a whole lot of excess baggage dropping off this bod… considering collegiate wrestlers or boxers to make weight can go into the gym and in a few hours and blow off 10 pounds. I don’t want to lose weight rapidly, I want to lose the weight systematically according to my plan. One goal at a time over the next six to ten months… slowly take it off. Besides, I’m a lover… not a fighter!

The last time I went on a reduction program was in the early 80’s where I lost 65 pounds in about 8 to 9 months on Weight Watchers. That time, I did it by diet alone… not with exercise. However, what kept me focused then was I had a partner, my sister. She lost a little and I lost allot. The program became a challenge for me because, I wanted to weigh in each week minus 2 or more pounds loss greater then her. That worked for me considering my competitive nature. The problem with having my sister as my partner was I worked for her company at the time and when I was triumphant hitting all my goals in 1/3 less time… that made her envious and annoyed. We argued and I left her company and dissolved our Weight Watchers plan. We both gained back all of our weight and then some.

This time it WILL BE DIFFERENT… I am now that "Little Engine That Could"! I can do it! I can do it! Eat good stuff NOT junk foods. Stop eating after 10 pm. No more big heaping bowls of ice cream before bed. Exercise and drink plenty of water. Last, by putting up a huge mental sign… If I am NOT doing this for myself … I DO IT FOR MY GRANDSONS! That IS the BIG picture. I want to see them grow up. My daughters didn’t have any grandfathers. Both my dad and my wife’s father passed away at very young ages.

So, my work really begins NOW. I hope to accomplish my goals by staying focused and this blog is what I am using to keep on track. If anybody has some suggestions that I could use to mix things up and keep my routines fresh… I would appreciate your input.

Unfortunately, I lost my full time position last June and my personal finances are a mess right now… so personal trainers and expensive health clubs are out of the question. I can not afford squat! (literally)

SO please share your thoughts with me… I am not looking to get into contest shape… I just want to reshape my belly… by getting rid of my FULL BARREL and trade it in, I mean, train it in for a cool SIX PACK!
