If you’re reading this you probably know that I was selected to be this weeks Female Transformation of the Week. WOO HOO! I was out of town for the past two days and I come back home only to find about 100 new friend requests and tons more profile comments! I wanted to stay up all night and respond to each and every friend request and comment but my boyfriend told me I should get some sleep. Well, it’s just past 5am and can’t sleep. I’m going to be recorded for a local morning TV show today about my weight loss. I’m so excited the thought of staying in bed longer doesn’t even appeal to me. So if I haven’t responded to you yet… just wait for it, I will!
A few questions people have asked me…
Question 1: Can I help you lose weight? Can I make you a diet? If you follow what I wrote for my diet will you lose weight?
Answer 1: Well, yes I can help you lose weight but I can’t make everyone who asked for a diet a diet. I am not certified in anything nutrition related (but I am working on that part.) As for telling people exactly how much food to eat and what kinds… I think you should seek out professional help in that department. I would love to try and help everyone but I know I am not qualified to develop diets for people who want to compete. You really need to have an experienced coach on your side and follow EXACTLY what they say. They will make you a diet that works best for YOUR body and will have the time to follow up with you to ensure that you get the results you are looking for.
If you follow the general diet that I posted for the transformation of the week thing you probably will lose weight as long as you keep your porportions reasonable and eat often enough. Just keep the carbs low glycemic, the meat super low fat, and the veggies plentiful.
Question 2: Did I do any cardio?
Answer 2: YES! I hated it with a passion but with enough caffiene and good music in my iPod I did TONS of cardio! During the first phases of my diet I did around 2 hours or less per day. I did take a day off from time to time though. I never did 2 hours all together, I broke up the cardio into one hour or less pieces. I would wake up in the morning go get my heart rate up for about an hour on a treadmill, eliptical, stair machine, or something else then I would go home, cook, eat, then go back to the gym lift weights and do a half hour of intervals or another hour of regular cardio. That got my entire workout done early and gave me time to get through the rest of the day. It also felt great! In general, the more cardio you do the faster you will lose weight. Just be careful not to get too intense or do too much because you may sacrifice muscle instead of fat.
Question 3: People have asked me if they could pay me to help train them. However, most people are on a very strict budget…..
Answer 3: I hate to be the bearer of bad news but dieting like this is not cheap. It is possible to do if you’re very creative, a good coupon clipper, or have relatives at foster farms. I put a significant part of what I earn into buying meat and vegitables along with high quality supplements. My suggestion to ANYONE starting out looking for someone to help them diet is to go ahead and start reading up on contest diets right here on Bodybuilding.com. That is how I started out. I spent hours on my cell phone when I was on flights, in boring classes *shhhhh* and waiting on stuff reading about why things work and what people have done to lose weight. There are plenty of great diets on here people can follow to a T and have success with. It’s when you really want to diet down for a competition that I suggest you get yourself a coach.
Question 4: Speaking of this being spendy… am I looking for sponsorship?
Answer 4: Oh yes! Any little bit helps! My dream is to be sponsored by Foster Farms Chicken Breasts but I have a feeling they’re not going to let that fly. (and you guys bodybuilding.com
I may have to write them a letter just to see. I eat enough chicken that I would be happy to wear a chicken shirt to the gym EVERY DAY and sing the praises of their delicious fresh chicken for a case of chicken breasts a month. Oh well.. if you’re not Foster Farms but are interested in sponsoring me please send me an email to me@tiffanyforni.com with what you have in mind and I will respond to you quickly.
Question 5: Saggy Skin and Stretch Marks….
Answer 5: Nope, I don’t have any extra saggy skin, and a tan hides stretch marks really well. Fortunatly for me my genetics dictate that I have good skin elasticity so neither of those things are really a problem for me. I have asked people why this happens and they say that to keep the skin and stretch mark thing under control the main part is having the genetics and skin type but secondly, if you lift heavy and concentrate on gaining some muscle it will help you tighten up and not have to deal with all of the extras that come along with dropping tons of weight. Also, staying hydrated and eating good food helps a lot.
Question 6: When is your book coming out?
Answer 6: HOOOOOPEFULLLY by the end of this year. I’m my own worst critic so I edit and re-edit and re-edit and I need to just stop that and let it be. My goal is to have it out before christmas though.
Hmmm…. other questions….. I think those are the main questions I have been getting asked. I will try and respond to all of the emails that I get and at least try to include some advice that I think would be helpful. It may take me some time to respond to everyone but I will try my best.
Thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragement! To hear that my story has inspired so many people nearly brought me to tears. I wish you all the absolute best luck reaching and beating your goals! It’s hard work and now that you have put your mind to it and made the decision to drop the pounds for good you will succeed! I hope you all have an amazing week and keep the emails and comments and adds coming! I am happy to have new friends on a great site like bodybuilding.com
Enjoy your chicken!
