Readers,
Started the ZMA supplement today, hoping its as good as studies are saying it is. I am also starting to take caffeine tablets before a workout to maintain a high intensity in energy levels from start to finish, and today it really worked! Had an explosive workout, as did my partner. Also starting next week I am going to start working on grip strength as it is what fails first on deadlfits and other pulley devices, and everything else is quite capable of going further. Did some reading and farmer walks and static holds appear to be my best options for increasing my grip power - will let yous know if i see an improvment.
Kind Regards,
Robert Murphy

Readers,
Got a new set of gloves today as my old ones were fading badly, had little grip and began to tear and slide around under the stress of heavy loads. I decided to go all out and buy a real expensive pair of Weider gloves that had wrist attachments to them - the one you fold around on your wrist and attach (like coleman does) The result was a far better workout, deadlifts were easier and the grip level was much more comfortable. The added grip plus comfort of the gloves made for a productive workout and I am looking to increase my lifts as before my hands were getting quite a beating and the gloves were sliding and scrunching up preventing me from going any higher due to comfort and grip. Ill let yous know next week if my lifts improve.

Readers,
Today for a change my partner Matt and I decided to train in the afternoon rather then early in the morning - just for a change up…NEVER AGAIN! couldn’t move, breathe or get anything done. People taking machines, weights, weight plates and benches, what normally take 1 hour to an hour and 20 mins took nearly 2 hours! Other then the annoyance of the crowd the workout was not to bad. I squatted 165kg for 12 reps and felt quite good about it - the burn was sensational. Also my bicep routine was great - the chest was not as good as usual had to spit it up, did flat then there were no benches avaliable so had to do it last. All in all, happy with squats but at least i found out never to go in late on a Monday and still stick to early morning training.

Readers,
Had a late workout today with a packed gym! My partner didn’t come today had obligations elsewhere so i had no spotter. I didn’t let this stop me and i lifted as much as i normally do with him as one. I matched all my lifts and i felt great. The reflection i seen today in the mirror was one i was really impressed with, can see alot of gains now. I increased my deadlift today as well by 1.25kg - nothign much but small additions over time will be key to my sucess. By the way neck pain is now 100% gone.

Readers,
Today I worked out as i normally would. Gave the smith bench press the toss and started on free weights again and my results improved. Leg pressed 450kg for 14 reps as well which was a big boost to my confidence. On my neck - today it seemed to get better as my workout progressed, the muscle movments must have relaxed the area and tension because with each exercise I became more and more comfortable and relaxed. In the arfternoon my neck still seemed to be on the mend, as i can now turn my head from side to side. I am greatly relived by this as when it initially happened a few days back i was really worried as the pain was quite servere. It looks like it was nothing more then a scare and ill be careful to avoid such occurances in the future whilst doing the nose-breakers (aka - skull-crushers). Ill keep you posted.
Kind Regards,
Robert Murphy

Readers,
Well its been nearly two days after I first injured my neck - sleep has not been good, most positions have been causing me pain and sleep has been hard to come by. I find myself waking up constantly to re-adjust or re-position myself to lessen the stress on my neck. Deep heat seems to be working well, and this morning I woke up and I can now move my neck from side to side without having to bend my body along with it. The pain isn’t quite as bad and I think it should recover within the next 3 days (hopefully) I will be working out tomorrow - but the workout has nothing to do with my neck area so it should be alright. I’ll let yous know how the wojout goes and if improvements are made.

Readers,
Had a great workout today really felt good until I go to the triceps nose-breaker (aka skull-crushers) Then after my 4the set I got up and felt a tremendously sharp pain run through my neck on the right hand side down to the halfway point on my shoulder. It hurt quite a bit and after doing 3 sets of pull-downs I decided to call it a day as I only had one more set of that exercise anyway. Now I can not move my neck left or right without experiencing some pain or discomfort. I am using deep heat to relieve some of the pain, and I hope its a twinge or a strain and nothing more sinister or hampering to my gains in the short-term. Ill keep you posted on it and hopefully it makes a solid recovery in the next few days.
Kind Regards,
Robert Murphy

Readers,
Well i have decided I am now going to workout 4 days a week. 3 times at the gym (Mon, Wed, Fri) and once at home on the Thursday. I have decided that since i work arms on Mondays i can maybe work them out on the Thursday to get that explosive growth I have been looking for. My arms have been staying the same size for a while now - and are never sore after a workout in the slightest (at least not like that used to) So i have decided to do barbell curls for 4 sets, 2 - 3 sets of Arnold 21’s and 4 sets of upright rows (this being because my traps are lagging behind other body parts atm) Hopefully this extra addition to my workout routine will give me the extra boost i need in growth. I have been careful not to over train and its only a short 20 -25 minute routine thats blasted in quickly. Afterwards i really felt worked. Also for those who are interested I will eb posting new and improved photos of myself next Thursday if all goes to plan so keep posted.
Kind Regards,
Robert Murphy

Readers,
Today I had an AWESOME back and shoulder workout. I had dead lifts first then followed it up with dumbbell shoulder press then the military press. Now i don’t know about you but doing dumbbell shoulder and military presses straight after each other is not only grueling and strenuous but feels amazing. I also added a new trap workout with upright rows on the smith machine. It was amazing, have never had a trap workout this good…EVER! I had done the shrugs before both dumbbell and barbell and received little to no results. This promises to be a great addition to my routine and hopefully i can build those monster traps i strive for. Ill keep you posted on my workouts.

Readers,
Can you believe that today was my first ever barbell incline bench ever! I have done the incline dumbbell press before and i recently only incorporated that into my routine as I felt my side chest was lagging in comparison to my lower. The results of my recent addition of dumbbell inclines (which i haven’t done in at least 4 - 6 months) was great and today when i jumped on the incline barbell bench it felt AMAZING! Although i struggled for correct form at first, after 2 sets I was hooked. It felt amazing and afterwards I could definitely feel that I had worked my chest out hard. I cant wait to next Monday to do them again. Hopefully the strengthening of my side chest will improve my lifts overall and get me my target flat bench press goal. Also overall I had a great day at the gym and felt i had made real progress.
Ill keep you posted on my results as they eventuate.
Kind Regards,
Robert Murphy
