Creatine, vitamins and change of diet plan.

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Dear Readers,

I forgot to mention in my last post that I am now changing my diet plans and began to take creatine. At first sceptical of the benifits I am pleased to report that I am now a reformed person and i fully endorse the use of creatine in conjunction with a good steady and healthy diet. I have also began taking a higher load of protein as I made the foolish mistake of mis-measuring the amount of protein in my protein shakes by estimating the size of the powder. To my surprise i was getting half what i should per serving. I was getting approx 15 - 20 grams when i should have been getting 35 - 40grams. Correcting this and adding multi-vitamins to my diet plan along with healthier eating has seen an increase in my energy levels and sustained power and intensity during my workouts. And not to mention greater recovery time - plus to added benifit on the plasebo affect. I am also happy to report I now have a gym partner that is as dedicated as I am and i hope the added motivation will also help my progress and that i can help him achive his goals also.

Kind Regards,

Robert Murphy

Recovery and back to hard training

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Dear Readers,

Sorry for not posting in a while I have been busy with university work and had a lack of motivation during my injury period. Well after a lay of of gym work and a less intensive program that took the focus of my back I am now back to it and i must say I couldn’t be happier. Nothing beats the feeling of returning to hardcore back routines and I missed the squat and deadlift terribly. To my surprise I returned to lifting the same weight as i had done 3 - 4 weeks ago before my injury. I have started a new routine loosely based on the one that I have been doing for the past two months. I have taken the 5 X 5 approach for bench press and adopted a new approach for my other compound lifts. I now do 4 sets of as many reps as i can manage on a certain weight. I generally stick to the 6 - 10 rep range for the first three and a 3 - 5 for my final set. So far I am enjoying the change up and along with my start on Creatine I am feeling rejuvinated and ready to push for greater results. Ill keep yous up to date with progress.

Kind Regards,

Robert Murphy

Blog Entry

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Readers,

Trouble has hit, I have injured my back and it has been sore for 3 weeks now. I can take comfort in the fact that it is not serious as the pain and trouble area is away from the spinal cord itself. I have taken two weeks of back specific exercise and its around 90% better now. I am taking a full week of the gym so it can properly heal and i can return to my much missed deadlifts and squats. Ill keep you posted on the progress.

Kind Regards,

Robert
