Well, it’s been 17 or 18 weeks since surgery. Hell I have lost count. Initially they said it would be 8-10 weeks then I would be good to go. My hand is always tight and has minimal movement. Looks like no lifting of weights for me anytime in the near future. Just trying to stay active and not get completely depressed. Walking helps. I think I may try hiking some of the state parks around here. Maybe getting back out into nature will help. Had no idea this surgery would change my life so much. Trying to keep my diet mainly of healthy foods. At this point I will be happy just being able to walk off the weight I gained after surgery and continue to eat healthy. I tried doing a pull up on the playground I passed yesterday while walking. Couldn’t even support myself with that hand so the pullup was out of the question. Going back to work soon. Physical therapy has drained the funds so even though my hand isn’t really all that usable and is still swollen some I don’t have much choice. My surgeon doesn’t seem interested in making my house payment!

Got the button removed from my hand yesterday that was keeping tension on the ligament while it reattached to my bone. Didn’t hurt as bad when thhey pulled the cord out of my thumb holding the button in place. Had a weird feeling coming out. I still have to wear that aggravating splint when I go out but at least not when I am home. My thumb is finally beginning to take back a semi-normal shape. I still can’t move it hardly at all. Will be glad when I can because I am sooo out of shape from being basically bed ridden the first 4 weeks from the pain. I dunno if anyone will read this but it helps me to break the boredom of being stuck in the house! Starting therapy in 2-3 weeks….yaehhhhhhhh.
