in September riding bike,I crashed and now have torn rotator cuff, I’ve been out of work since the end of August, I was supposed to start a new job today and they said wait till I have surgery and Doctor clears me. Wow, anyway   I haven’t been riding or doing much since I lost my job, My mother needed lots of care and now she has passed away. I think I will be able to ride stationary bike with my arm in a sling, so I can do cardio twice a day, and have time to cook and eat right.

ok I’ve been into riding the bike, working away at a 10 week program to faster century, I’m in week 3 , feelin great, rode a bicycle club ride sunday, which allows me to see how I ride compared to others, since I usually ride alone, I gotta say, it felt good, While I wasn’t at the lead I was not the last guy there. Overall this site has been very helpful in many ways, I see other people make progress which heelps me believe it really is possible, I use forums to get questions answered, I also use a forum as a daily trianing log. REally I do feel connected to other people through this site, Other people who are trying to improve themselves physically.  Man life is just wonderful right now.

Help Me, Please help me understand

I have been working to remove the sugar from my diet. I do very well most of the time, i allow myself a treat 1 or 2 times per week, I have been working those treats to smaller portions. I have discovered the salad bar at the local grocery and loved that. It has become my new fast food for lunch at work. Why does my body sometimes go nuts, haywire, 0ff into have to have sugar now at any cost mode, lots of it. Today i got my salad and melon,strawberries for lunch. The company provided a hamburger and baked beans I was not expecting but it was there and good. I ate about half of my salad and after the grilled burger some of the melons/strawberries then had an uncontrollable need to hit the candy machine, two candy bars (big size), and a bag of cookies, throw the salad and fruit away.  I feel so retarded and out of control. It makes no sense and I feel like I am not in control at all. I can do fine for a few weeks then get this sugar binge for a day. If you can offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Well, I have been bicycle riding some, I plan to start a 10 week program Monday coming up. the plan is to improve my overall time for a century ride, it requires about an 1.5 hour a day commitment to ride with saturdays of 3-4 hours, Mondays off. So i begin yet another quest. I have copies of the plan so I can mark off each days ride and make notes about the ride. I can also incorporate hill work and intervals into the rides. all in all I am excited, I hope the riding will change my body composition some, like losing some of the fat, increasing stamina and stronger heart. In years past my bicycling has not really impacted my weight much. I am hoping the every day consistency, intensity, and overall time spent will make a difference this year. Also I am eating much better this year than I have ever done before, much cleaner. This should make a difference. Later

I haven’t written in a while, I’ve beenso busy, haven’t worked out on weights till I can get shoulder looked at, fixed. I have been riding the bike, I have been learning and working on avoiding High Fructose corn syrup, liquid poison as I call it. I am working to eliminate it from my life and replace sweet with Honey or Agave syrup.

yesterday I was going to do weightss, but had to do lawn work for someone else, It was three hours, and I was beat, spent wheen it was done. Next week I may have to work some 13 hr days, between two jobs, The bright side is friday and saturday this week I go out of town for club bike ride, I am goiing to try camping, I haven’t done that since I was about 15, over 30 years ago. It should be interesting, but I am looking forward to the adventure. My wife will be off all next week, I’m not sure if that will be a good thing or not. Overall my strength training is suffering, but I am doing ok on cyclling training, And while I am not getting ass much ride time as I would like, I am getting ride time. Hopefully I will get the goal of a 8 hr century by September

rotator cuff injured last week, i have been dealing with pain for several days, i didn’t work out since most of my routine invovles shoulders, and back, I really need to get this fixed, I hate missing workouts for injury.

back at work, though I’d rather not be. workout today was ok, found a new bicycle riding partner, cool, went to grocery store yesterday, should be able to eat clean this week, group/club ride next saturday and I am excited about that, hope it is not raining

OK I am getting consistent in making it to the gym, am doing better (realative term) at my eating. but my focus, word for the next few weeks, months, days, hours is discipline, where do I get get it, how do I develop it? anyway I am to work on the basis of  " is this a part of the plan"? if not,  does it do me or anyone else any good, otherwise let it go.
