Weigh-In was this morning. I was surprise that I did not gain. Although I had only one workout in the gym and one at TKD, they were great workouts. I have been apprehensive about weight training since my doctor said I light weight training is best. I truly understand their reasoning, especially when it comes to the upper torso. I am incorporating upper torso (with the exception of my back) free weight training, but not at the rate I am incorporating weight training for my lower extremity (no leg extension, trying to save my knees). Thanks to those who provided advice and guidance regarding quad training.
Great Weekend To All!

What I like about bodybuilding.com is for the most part, people are helpful. They are not bound by stereotypes. People don’t see the color of a person’s skin, race, religion, creed, and/or sex. What they see are people trying to build a better and stronger body. Some have done extremely; others are yet trying and will succeed with great perseverance. I have met many wonderful, knowledgeable and well informed people. I appreciate the assistance and guidance that I have been given.
Thanks
Payton
PS I am try to build my quads, but leg extension is out. If there is anyone who has a routine or know an exercise that can help me build my quads with performing leg extension, please drop me a line. TC Payton

Although I was moving a little slow, training was good yesterday morning. But, last night was even better. TKD started with the regular warm-ups, pushups, abdominal exercises, etc. Started a new form of weapons training, bow staff. Fun, but can be dangerous. Had several good work out. Been trying to eat clean, have eliminated process foods as much as possible, but gained .2 lbs. I know that is not a lot, but I am thinking with the workouts and TKD. I should be losing. Go figure. Tomorrow is another day.

I was fooling around with my wife last night. I was getting something out of my son’s room, and I decided to try on a pair of his jeans (size 36) that he does not wear anymore. My son wears a size 28, but he went through this phase where he wore clothes that hung off of him; those days are over. I could wear them, my wife’s comment was "Ok, that greats! Now, take them off. Those are for young people." My comments were, "Appreciate, don’t hate." I was just kidding with her, but it felt great.

Today was WI gained 1 lb. I found that hard to believe with the morning workouts and tae kwon do in the evening. I am staying on track with my caloric intake. I pretty much stick to a certain eating routine, with a little variation every once in a while. I was told maybe I am not eating enough. This week, I will continue to monitor my workout and eating habits to see where improvements can be made, especially the upper torso. One thing that made we feel good is people are telling me that they can see the weight loss. The TKD workout last night was brutal; I am exhausted. TKD Promotion Test this afternoon. Hopefully, I will make through the afternoon.

Today, September 19, 2008, is had been declared. National POW/MIA Recognition Day. On this day, we honor the brave and patriotic Americans who were held as prisoners of war, and we remember those who are still missing in action. For their valor and selfless devotion to protect the country they love, our Nation owes them a debt we can never fully repay. On this day we underscore our commitment and pledge to those who are still missing in action and to their families that we will not rest until we have achieved the fullest possible accounting for every member of our Armed Forces missing in the line of duty.
To observe this important day, the National League of Families POW/MIA flag is flown over the Capitol, the White House, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and other locations across our country. The flag is a solemn reminder of our Nation’s enduring obligation and promise to our courageous service members who remain missing and a tribute to those who have been imprisoned while serving their country in conflicts around the world.
This excerpt was taken for the President of the United States Proclamation.
You may ask, "why is this being posted." It is posted because we should honor our Veterans as well as our service men and women who protect the liberties of this great country.
Everyone is entitle to an opinion. However, if you disagree, please do not respond with negative remarks. The veterans and service men/women deserve better. Thanks!

Training was good tonight. We did some sparring, practice poomse, and strength training using our body weight. My meals were off today. I packed lunch and some mini meals, but I did not eat everything so I am sure am lacking some calories. I will have to get use to eating 5-6 small meals-a-day. You know what the say, "do something for 21 days and it become a habit." I am working on it.

For the past two weeks, I have been working out in the wee hours (0245-0415) of the morning, and it has paid off. The first week, I gained about three lbs. The second week, I lost 6.4 lbs. Although I was tired at the end of my day, I had so much energy to keep me going throughout most of the day. I have modified my squats since the doctor said that I should not be doing a full squat nor leg extensions. So, if you know of an exercise that will work my quads, feel free to share your knowledge and expertise.

Most of us will have the day off from work, tomorrow. If you have an opportunity, please take a minute of your day to give honor to the men and women who serve and protect this great country. They are away from their families without the comfort and convenience of amenities that we take for granted. Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world.
‘Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.’
To the military service men and women, THANKS!
And to all, have a great Labor Day!
