Veterans Day is intended to honor and thank all military personnel who served the United States in all wars, particularly living veterans. It is marked by parades and church services and in many places the American flag is hung at half mast. A period of silence lasting two minutes may be held at 11am. Some schools are closed on Veterans Day, while others do not close, but choose to mark the occasion with special assemblies or other activities.Veterans Day is officially observed on November 11. However, if it falls on a week day, many communities hold their celebrations on the weekend closest to this date. This is to enable more people to attend and participate in the events. Federal Government offices are closed on November 11. If Veterans Day falls on a Saturday, they are closed on Friday November 10. If Veterans Day falls on a Sunday, they are closed on Monday November 12. State and local governments, schools and non-governmental businesses are not required to close and may decide to remain open or closed. Public transit systems may follow a regular or holiday schedule.
If you know a veteran, please take a moment to thank them for their service. If you know a service men or women, thank them for their service, but continue to support them anyway you can. Never forget those who have served.
Take care and have a great weekend!

For the last three or four weeks, I have been working diligently to lose more weight. However, it seems like my efforts have been fruitless. Weigh-in was this morning, and I gained .4 lbs. Last week, I lost .4 lbs. Week before that I gained .4 lbs. Also, I found out today that one of the medicines that I used to help control a few MS symptoms cause you to gain weight. With that in mind, I must re-evaluate my workout and nutritional habits. Regardless of what is happening, I can’t give up! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Much peace to you,

Picked up a new book entitled "Toxic Relief: Restore Health and energy through fasting and detoxification." It is supposed to provide information regarding deep-cleansing your body right down to the cellular level to increase vitality and restore energy, shed toxic fat, etc… There is another book that I will pick up from GNC called Healing Through Nutritional Health.

Weigh-In was this morning. I was surprise that I did not gain. Although I had only one workout in the gym and one at TKD, they were great workouts. I have been apprehensive about weight training since my doctor said I light weight training is best. I truly understand their reasoning, especially when it comes to the upper torso. I am incorporating upper torso (with the exception of my back) free weight training, but not at the rate I am incorporating weight training for my lower extremity (no leg extension, trying to save my knees). Thanks to those who provided advice and guidance regarding quad training.
Great Weekend To All!

What I like about bodybuilding.com is for the most part, people are helpful. They are not bound by stereotypes. People don’t see the color of a person’s skin, race, religion, creed, and/or sex. What they see are people trying to build a better and stronger body. Some have done extremely; others are yet trying and will succeed with great perseverance. I have met many wonderful, knowledgeable and well informed people. I appreciate the assistance and guidance that I have been given.
Thanks
Payton
PS I am try to build my quads, but leg extension is out. If there is anyone who has a routine or know an exercise that can help me build my quads with performing leg extension, please drop me a line. TC Payton
