Navy life is hard…….
The reason im starting this blog is because tonight i get to see my son for the first time in 14 months. The last time i saw my son was Oct 30th 2007. He is 4 years old and i have not once been home to spend the holidays with him. Not once have i been home for thanksgiving, christmas, new years, birthdays………..Navy life is hard. In the end its worth it because those who love you will stand by your side through all the sacrifices you make to make this world and safer place to live. Not many people know or understand how hard it actually is serving your country. For all of you who are deployed, for all who are not home to be with your families for these holidays……this goes out to you!!!! Coming from a man who has been there and is there……stay strong, your strength is what makes this world better stronger….
Im seeing my son tonight at 11 pm……….and the tears are already coming down………..I love you dominic!!!! Happy 4th birthday, daddy is coming!!!!

That is the sweetest thing I have read. That is an amazing thing you are doing for your country and takes a lot of heart I’m sure. I have a 2 year old daughter and nothing could ever pull me away from her because I would just die inside without seeing her everyday. Thats how I know you are a man who deserves "nuff" respect!

I just saw this posting that you made last week. Happy Birtyhday to Dominic!
Because you posted this, those of us who admire you for serving our country and for your physical accomplishments and valued advice, have something else to admire in you. …for the love and tenderness of a dedicated father. Now that is worth respect and admiration.
Thank you for your service to our country, and God bless you and your family.

I know how you feel, I used to be in the navy for 6 1/2 years. I don’t have any kids but got a sweet girl, that was allway missing me and i was her. always going away for 6 to 8 months of a year and never enought time at home….Hope that your sea time gets shorter and land time longer!!
I gues that was the reason, i didn’t want my kids (when we have them) to grow up without me being there, seen way to much of that in my time in the navy…..
