You don’t need NO STINKING SUPPLEMENTS!!!
Thursday, March 6th, 2008It’s been 9 months since I started working out, eating healthy and really paying attention to my health. I realize that I will never ever get that big huge freaky physique nor do I really want that. I tried all those fancy drain your pocket book supplements (creatine, NO2 etc.) and notice that I get just as good results taking just one protein shake right before and after my workouts. The best part is my pocket isn’t getting drained.
It seems like the ony workout sometimes comes from these supplement companies having you lift your hard earned cash from your wallet to make them even richer. I work too hard for my money to throw away cash on supplements that are more hype than anything else. There is a recent article in the latest Muscle and Fitness that says you don’t need supplements to get a great physique. Kind of ironic them saying that since they are run by Weider, one of the biggest supplement companies out there. All those magazines are. Besides most of the bodybuilders don’t even use the supplements they endorse. Most of them are just juicing to get that physique. If you have a great nutrition program, you don’t need to throw your money away for minimal results.
Get a good protein powder and you’re set. I have gone from 178lbs. to 191lbs in just 9 months. My bodyfat has gone from over 25% to just under 13%, all without Creatine, NO2 etc. I have put 1 1/2" on my arms, 2" on my chest and legs and now have a lat spread. Supplements are just that, to supplement what you don’t take in nutrition-wise. They are not a magic pill. If they were, everyone would look like Mr. or Ms. Olympia. That certainly is NOT the case. Do yourself a favor, if you work hard for your money, don’t give it away to the supplement companies for products that are more hype than anything else, just eat the right foods at the right times and you’ll still get great results.
Anyway, my goal at 48 is to put on some decent muscle size, lose the body fat and get that nice hard-body look. I am very much focusing on legs these days doing them 2Xs per week. I notice that the more I pound them that they recover very quick and I’m seeing some pretty good results. By the way tonight is legs. Hope all you Body-spacers are having a great week.
