Good to be back.

April 26, 2009

I finally made it back to the gym yesterday for the first time in two weeks after being slammed with a severe bought of bronchitis. Did chest and arms. My strength was through the roof even though I didn’t feel up to my best. I lifted more than I ever have. This must have been the up side to taking two weeks off. The down side was losing my six-pack, 10 pounds and losing 1/2" off my arms, chest and legs. UUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!  I know it’s just a matter of time until I get back but there is nothing worse than a major setback…..especially when making such great progress. Now I’m just more focused to kick even harder with nutrition and exercise. It’s just good to be back. The old saying is true……."When you have your health, you have everything".

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

December 25, 2008

Merry Christmas everyone. May all my fellow Body-Spacers have a joyous and blessed holiday. May 2009 be our best year ever filled with love, peace, happiness, joy and financial prosperity. Remember it doesn’t matter how strong you are if you are not able to lift up others.

Peace

Cardio at no extra charge.

March 2, 2008

Had a great workout punishing legs today with minimal rest between sets. Started with super-setting 5 sets of leg extensions and squats. Then I hit the leg press and hack squat machine for another 5 sets apiece. Then it was on to hamstrings doing 5 sets of straight-leg deadlifts followed by leg curls. Finally finished with super-setting 5 sets each of standing and seated calf raises. I could have been wrung out afterwards, between the heart pounding and sweat. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to walk let alone drive my car to work tomorrow. There is nothing better than a strenuous workout that includes hi-intensity cardio at no extra charge.

Weather N Leg Day!

February 22, 2008

Yesterday should have been leg day but due to heavy freezing rain and sleet, with most of the major roads icing up so going to the gym took a back burner. Getting home safe from working a 1/2 day at work due to bad weather and a Dr.’s appointment was a #1 priority yesterday. So today I pounded my legs. Everything is moving forward one day. I did over two hours including 15 sets super-setting leg extensions and squats, 10 set for hamstrings and 18 sets for calves. I’m now wondering if walking is going to be its own exercise…..you know, an exercise in futility. Tomorrow it’s back and bis. Hopefully I’ll be able to walk tomorrow.

A great workout followed by a night of violence.

February 7, 2008

Had a great workout today. Took off early from work to pound legs and then went to sit down and have some spiritual time with my pastor. Got home and ran out for a quick bite to eat and saw 4 police heading the opposite direction. Turns out a shooter went crazy at a council meeting here in Kirkwood MO. The mayor was shot along with 2 policemen who later died. It’s times like this that we have to put things into perspective. My prayers go out to everyone involved. Life is short and we need to Thank GOD for every day that is given to us.

Bigger Arms

February 5, 2008

Since last summer I’ve put 1 1/2" on my arms. They measured out at a solid 15" tonight. Slow and steady wins the race as the old saying goes. I would love to put on another 1/2" by summer but am not sure how realistic that really is but will be giving it my all. My chest now measures a solid 41". I have recently started doing arms and chest twice a week since the first of the year and am noticing some size coming. I am very happy with my progress although I know I can always push myself harder.
Bigger…….Badder………Better. 08 is going to be a very exciting year.

2008. A time for change.

January 27, 2008

Today was chest and tris. Had an awesome workout. Starting next Sunday I am going to start training with two hardcore power-lifters for my bench. Due to a broken elbow years ago, I have had a tendency to baby my right arm when working out. Today I actually lifted more weight than ever before and my right arm felt great. These guys are going to take me to a level I’ve never dreamed I could get to. No only will my strength go through the roof, my overall size is going to increase over the next year. You can only get so far by yourself. Sooner or later you’ll need a great workout partner or trainer to get you through those plateaus. I’ll keep you posted over the months with progress pics and more. Have a blessed week.

NEW YEAR = NEW ROUTINE!

January 26, 2008

Being ectomorphic is great unless you’re trying to put on muscle mass. I am experimenting with a new routine and am going to make 08 the year of mass / muscle gain. On top of tweaking my diet to up my calorie intake by 1000 calories per day, I have come up with this new workout routine. By incorporating chest / tris and legs twice a week along with my calorie uptake, hopefully I can get some great results come summer.

Monday  -  Legs
Tuesday -  Off
Wednesday - Chest / Tris
Thursday - Legs
Friday - Back / Bis
Saturday - Shoulders
Sunday - Chest / Tris
