Blog Entry
Today marks the last day of WEEK 4 in my 12 week bulking protocol. I have 8 weeks remaining to gain 21lbs. This is reasonable given my caloric intake/diet, training intensity, sleep cycles, and supplementation. 6 pounds from now will be the heaviest I have ever been in my entire life, achieved in 2001 (but a sloppy 185, haha).
Now is the time to step it up and be even more serious than I have been the past 4 weeks. I am breaking records every few days it seems. I must stay dedicated and work through the pain. The soreness, the feeling of wanting to fall asleep randomly (where is my ZMA?), and the grueling task of eating 6-8 meals per day is a small price to pay for the results that are coming.
***Noticed at 3,000 cals/day, was losing about 1-2lbs per week due to walking 75mi per month at work. Upped to 3300 and was able to maintain weight mostly. Then increased to 3500, then to 3700, and tomorrow, to 3900.
Currently at 3900 cals and 4400 on work days (walk 5mi at work), and 6000 on weekends (Sat AND Sun). Protein is around 400/day with 1lb beef and 1lb chicken per day, including at least 4 Universal Real Gains shakes.
Training is DC (doggcrapp) style with an A/B protocol and 3 variations of each for a total of 6 separate workouts. I’m feeling like the deadlifts are not stimulating my rhomboids and traps enough, so I’ve added in cable upright rows and v-bar cable rows following DL’s. I also feel like my arms need more work. I’m not sore in my arms much in comparison to other bodyparts that are growing rapidly. I’ve had trouble with arms in the past…this time it is a case of undertraining so I will add more work until they grow at a faster rate. It is certainly not overtraining this time. (too familiar with that one)
I will try to keep this blog updated fairly often. Comments will encourage me to write more since I will know that it is actually being read. Thanks for listening.
