Almost there, 6 more lbs approx. to lose, 4 1/2 weeks to go. Skin is getting thinner, but not striated enough yet. More damn cardio to go. Had a crazy day of lifting last night. I decided to do some crazy weight on just above the knee rack deads and pulled 700×2 ! Not the smartest thing at 4% bf. and so close to showtime. But, no injuries and I feel fine today. My mid-lower traps are fried from doing 445×20 racks afterwards. The locking out of the shoulders really hits the traps hard.

Down to 173 bw, hit a new PR on deads of 500×6 last night, on under 75g of carbs for 2 days, plus having the stomach flu over the weekend! Really trying to keep as much strength and size as possible while I diet down this year. So far so good. Chest/shoulder strength is the most affected so far. Squats are down as well. Overall leg strength seems to be pretty good though. I am about 8 pounds out from stepping on stage on April 11th in Binghamton,NY for the Empire States Natural. SHould be ready and much bigger than I ever have been on stage. I have a new carb load/depletion that I will be using. I will be using a slightly different sodium load/depletion/load as I did in 2007 which worked well. I plan to compete through spring and than boost weight back up to around 185 and hit a single lift raw powerlifting meet. I plan to weigh in around 180-181 and try to break a raw federation Deadlift record. Good luck to all competing this spring.

HIT a new PR of 565, missed 585 first, should have done one more warm-up set after 495×1. Will know next time ! Anyway I dropped 9 pounds so far to 188 this morning. Plan on coming in around 165 in April 2009. 23lbs to go and 14 1/2 weeks. 1.6lbs/week should be right on track. 3 shows planned for 2009, so we’ll see what gains I’ve really made on stage !! BW is up to 197 ! Highest ever. One more week before DIET TIME. I will be trying to get 6 plates on the Deadlift the last week of the month. Hit a PR of 500×3 this week. I should be real close now. If I pull the 585 I will try 600 - my original goal ! Yes, I will be trying to set a PR after 2+ weeks of full BB dieting ! But believe me I usually feel great the first 6-8 weeks. I will succeed, I will succeed, I will succeed …. I will videotape this as well. stay tuned. Craig.

I got my ultrasound and it has really helped my arm tendons. In the meantime the left pectoral tendon got wicked sore and I had to take 3 weeks off from chest training and using the ultrasound has helped that as well. I may not be able to compete in December due to this issue. Overall my gains have slowed and I am looking to turn it up again. I have dropped a couple pounds in a couple days just adding in a cuple 15-20 min cardio sessions and lowering my carbs a little. WOW! I reacted FAST! I was worried about being able to drop 30 pounds to be contest ready, but I know I can do it. My diet starts mid December full on 100% ! I will be doing three USBF shows in the spring. I will update with pics before I start my full cut diet.

Finally got a 500lb squat Wednesday ! Training for the PL meet on Dec 6th in NH. This will be tough ! Just ordered a personal portable ultrasound unit to try to remedy some of my tendon soreness especially in my left arm. I will let everyone know how well it works in a few weeks. Pulled a 570 lb DL but barely missed the lockout! I have been doing Sumo’s every other week, and regulars on the others. It definitely hits different muscles and I feel that they are helping my squats as well. I highly reccommend these two lifts for anyone trying to up there squat. I have about 4 months before I start dieting for next years shows, so I need to hit it hard while I have the extra padding. Talk to you soon !

Hit an all time high of 194lb bw this week, in the morning. Started using waxy-maize and have been getting stronger, bigger and staying moderately lean. HIT 550lb Deadlift last week for first time. Now my goal is 600 ! Hit 300×2 on incline Barbell today. Did a mock Strongman event Thursday and did awesome ! That type of training is brutal but it works ! Will be taking around a week off before the Strongman event. I can’t win because it is my event , but that doesn’t mean I will not try my hardest to beat the competition. Craig ..

What’s up everybody. Here’s an update on my current situation. I am weighing around 192-193. Starting taking Waxy-Maize, and have gained some weight since. Not sure if it’s good weight or not yet. Set a PR on close grip bench doing 225×210 and 245 by 6 last week. Also did the 120lb DB on inc press for the first time. Tendons are still sore but not as bad bacause of the anti-inflammatories I was given by my doctor. My right knee cap is bruised and cartilage underneath is not very good. Doc gave me 2 Patella knee supports and told me not to go furthewr than 90 degrees on anything-squat related. Hard to do that and lift a 240+ lb atlas stone !! I have been training for my own STRONGMAN event on 8-23. However I can’t win, but I sure don’t want to make a fool of myself either. Doc said my left clavicle shoulder pain is most probably caused by a similar tendon issue and the anti-inflamm. are helping that as well. I have had a rough life suffering high speed racing crashes, halfpipe and freestyle bike injuries, totalling aound 13 broken bones, 2 hernias and last year also had my appendix removed. But as I always say.. " WHAT DOES NOT KILL ME, MAKES ME STRONGER !!!! " Until next time, keep Training hard and overcome those genetic boudaries !! Craig.
