Bomb Suit Test
So this may not fully apply to body building, but it was extremely physically and mentally challenging. I accomplished my goal of taking and passing the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Bomb suit qualification test. I had to wear a 70 lb armored suit covering me from head to toe and complete tasks. I took my test in about 110 degree heat and completed everything in a good time. I was in the suit for about 40 minutes and was completely beat when I took it off. I rested all day and drank a ton of water and was still wore out. When I get home I can now apply to reclass in the military and go EOD, which is something that I would love to do with my life. I love being in the military but my current job is just getting to boring. Ive have done everything this job has to offer from convoying through Iraq on emergency ammunition resupply missions to sitting behind a desk and doing paper work. Ive done many missions with EOD personnel and I love working with them and I feel like I make more of a difference. My new goal will now be to get into a EOD unit and pass the 11 months of school.

Congratulations! That’s a great accomplishment! The mental aspect can never be underestimated. It takes a strong mind to keep going when your body is wanting to stop!

I feel your pain. I used to be on the SWAT team in New Orleans for five years, I never trained with the EOD suit but we had one training school we went to for Chemical Agents and everyday for like a week we had to train in full Swat gear, with our gas masks while wearing heavy Chem suits, in mid August in New Orleans. We had guys freak out from the heat , Claustriphobia and all sorts of other things. As you said, its not only brutal physically but mentally also. We we also having to clear schools and buildings and whatever else they could find while instructors were shooting at us with simunition rounds. it was friggim miserable, but it definitely tests you conviction. Congrads and good luck.

Good luck on going EOD. I graduated earlier this year. If you keep working hard to achieve daily goals, you’ll make it through. Now my goals are to gain 20 lbs of muscle and trim to 7% body fat
