Close Your Legs and Open Your MInd (a potty mouth blog)

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

I have read several blogs lately by some really slutty sounding people.  Day in, day out there is not real talk about bodybuilding, diet, or really any damn thing pertaining to the like.  Just talk about sex.  Sex with others.  Sex with self.  Phone sex. Blah, blah, blah.  I’m not sure if these people are trying to get more people to read their blogs or just want the opposite sex to lust after them or what the hell the deal is but it is weird.

I hate to break it to you people but but men (sorry fellas) will **** ANYthing.  I have heard of men ****ing the hole of a tree.    Seen the movie "American Pie"?  Dude ****ed a pie.  I’m sure somebody saw that and thought it was a GREAT idea.  They were probably pissed because they didn’t think of the idea.  In fact just recently (I saw on the news) a son killed his MOM and THEN he ****ed her dead body.  Um, hello???  A tree, a pie, a dead mama.

The point is there is really no need to write this shit all the damn time.  It is not you in particular that all the men on bodyspace are wanting.  So the next time you write a blog, try telling us about what your lifting or how your diet is going.  It’s a bodybuilding website not a mind****ing one :) .

Rant done.  Sorry for the use of F bombs. I apologize… sort of :P .

A mini competition

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

My trainer and his girlfriend are doing a competition in August (I think they are 11 weeks out).  While I was on the elliptical this morning warming up I decided that I would do a mini competition with him.

We are allowed to only have 2 cheat meals for the next 11 weeks.  His birthday is this weekend so he is allowed to have an extra cheat on that day.  I would do the same but I really f’ed up the diet over the weekend.

If he has more than 3 cheat meals, HE owes ME one week of free training.

If I have more than 2 cheat meals, then I owe HIM $100.

He will be eating superclean so I have to bring in a list to show him what I eat so he can determine whether or not my foods are cool.

Bring it, yo :) .

Papa’s got a what?

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Last week my father-in-law was sick.  My husband called to check on him.  Here’s the conversation AFTER they got off the phone at our house….

(son #2 who is 2) "Was that papa?"

(my husband) "Yes."

(son #2) "I wanna see papa!"

(husband) "You can’t papa’s got a fever."

(son #2) "Papa’s got a beaver!! I wanna see papa’s beaver"

(son #! who is five and has been glued to the tv suddenly jerks his headed, facing my husband) "Papa’s got a beaver??  I want to see papa’s beaver!!"

(husband) "NO!! Papa’s sick.  He’s HOT.  He has a FEEEVVVEEERRR!"

(son #2)  "Papa has a HOT BEAVER?!  I wanna see papa’s hot beaver!"

(son #1)  "Yeah, I want to see papa’s hot beaver too!!!"

:)

Where’s my trainer? (an update)

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Last week my trainer didn’t show for 2 of our 5 5:30am sessions.

Tomorrow I am getting a FREE session!

Exercise-induced asthma?

Monday, May 18th, 2009

I know that there is pain associated with lifting and I’m okay with that.  I do my fair share of cursing (not grunting) at the gym to get those laaast few reps.  However, a few weeks ago my trainer put a belt around my waist, hooked a two cables to the belt, and made me do 100 parallel squats and 100 lunges (50 each side) for a total of 200 leg reps.  I think I got about 150 into them and could no longer breathe. I was gasping for air, trying to take DEEP breaths, but it just wasn’t going my way.  I got tears in my eyes because of the panicked feelings I was having. I finished them because I would "cut" them up by resting

Last week the same thing happened only this time it was while I was doing abs?!  I was doing the seated oblique machine and, again, found myself with tears in my eyes and unable to breathe normally.

Today, I was doing stationary lunges (front leg was raised while standing on 3 plates).  My trainer was telling me to keep my rhythm and go fast, making my back knee touch a mat.  At first every time I tried to go faster I would gasp for air and have to pause to catch my breath (well sort of).  At one point I had to walk away for a minute and come back to finish.  Later I tried doing reverse crunches on an incline.  When I would lift my butt up I could not catch my breath again.

I wanted to quit soooo many times but managed to finish the hour.

I tried to explain to my trainer what was happening.  I was actually pissed at him because of a conversation we had had earlier so I didn’t really want to talk to him.

I am a super control freak, especially when my body is involved.  I like knowing why I feel the way I feel.  I don’t even like to take medicine (other than occasionally tylenol for a headache) or drink caffeine because I don’t like feeling abnormal, out of control.  It is very strange to not be able to breath normally and it sucks to not be in control.

When I got home I googled "exercised-induced asthma"  and I think this is what I’ve got.  I have never had asthma before.  I am going to make an appointment with my doctor today and hopefully I won’t have to take any meds.

Where’s my trainer?

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Well, he surely did not show at the gym this morning for our 5:30 appointment.  That’s the second time this week.  I’m not holding it against him because I do train awfully early.

It’s amazing how much harder somebody else can push you.  At times I want to stop using him because it is much more difficult.  Then, I think about how much i am going to change :) if I just keep training with him and I know that it’ll be worth it!

I am still averaging 1500 calories a day but did have an all out eating fest on Mama’s Day.  I am still logging all of my foods which, I think, is one of the smartest things I’ve done (other than hiring my trainer).  I wish I had done both sooner!

Feeling Ripe (for Shannon who is not ripe)

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

For those of you that are feeling ripe, give the old junkle region a spritz or two or three of ANTIPERSPIRANT.  That should keep you feeling fresh.

For those of you that aren’t ripe but have issues with others (and we all have issues with others ripeness) carry a can and spray as long and as much as you see fit.

The first tee-ball game :)

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Last night was my older son’s first game.  I’m not sure what the score was because it started pouring the rain.  All the kids batted.  My son had 2 rbi’s and one run himself :) .

The most amusing part happened right as my son’s coach was showing the boys their outfield positions.  The coach’s son, a cute and very chubby boy, starts taking off his shirt.  His dad, the coach, asked him what he was doing.  His son said that he was going to pee (apparently right there on the field).  Don’t people usually get pissED on the field instead of pissING on it??

Yesterday was arms and shoulders
giant set>>skull crushers, EZ bar curls, in and out jump squats= 4 sets

giant set>>triceps dips, cable curls, cable squats into front raises= 4 sets

giant set>>cable overhead press, cable lateral raise , medicine ball throws (straight up for shoulders) = 4 sets

Today was legs and abs
stiff legged deadlifts superset with lying leg curls (drop set)= 4 sets

giant set>> smith machine standing leg raise, v-ups, leg extensions (with a push down from my trainer and it was a drop set)= 4 sets

I’m sure there was another superset in there but I can’t think of what it was :( .

So that’s it?

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

I recently started to LOOK over my diet.  I had written out a plan to include specific numbers of each group of food.  I would just cross off each group as I ate and adjust if I had eaten too much of this and not enough of that.  Then, I went on fitday and realized why my numbers have not been going down.  I have been eating way too much.  Needless to say I have started using that site religiously.

Today’s workout was chest and abs.

db chest press> 4 sets

flyes superset with incline chest press> 4 sets

giant set> lying obliques (only lower half of the body is on a raised and padded table), plated ab machine, bosu push- ups> 4 sets

cable standing chest press (drop set)

Do This Experiment

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

I saw a friend of mine yesterday.  She told me to hold one of my arms straight out.  She told me to resist her when she pushed on my arm.  I did :) .  Then she told me to say (it was supposed to be out-loud but I thought I would laugh so I said it to myself), "I am weak and unworthy" 10 times.  It was so difficult for me to say it even though I think it sometimes.  By my third chant I was reading to cry.  When I was done she told me to put my arm at my side and resist when she pushed my arm.  It fell immediately :( .  Then she told me to say, "I AM STRONG AND WORTHY!" to myself 10 times.  When I finished she had me resist her pushing my arm again and I did :D !

This showed me how strong and powerful words are.  This morning during my workout I told myself that I am strong and worthy and I had an awesome workout.

I did this experiment on my husband and my male trainer.  I easily pushed their arms down when they told themselves that they are weak and unworthy.

Yesterday’s workout was back and abs>> 4 sets for all
superset #1 pull-ups and cable crunches (at 90ish degrees)
superset #2 seated bent over rows and cable lying leg pull-ins
giant set #1 dumbbell hyperextensions, bent over reverse flyes, hyperextension contraption
decline full sit-ups

Today was legs
smith machine squats (ass to the floor)
superset #1 walking lunges and seated calf push(these were drop sets)
giant set abductor machine, adductor machine, seated calf raises
superset #2 belted cable lunges (50 each side) and belted cable parallel squats (100)  I had to do these non-stop :P and was pooped!  I couldn’t really talk about 3/4 the way so I had issues with telling myself, "I am strong."
