My post 12 week transformation thoughts…

I started on my 12 week transformation with one thought in mind. Change. Change my body, change my attitude, change my lifestyle. And with the program from one man, and the support of friends, family, and my online support group, I have achieved that which I started.

I have turned my body from a puffy, out of shape form, into a lean , mean, muscled machine. And that’s really what our bodies really are. Machines. We put fuel into them, they do the work, and then we shut them down for repairs. Society as a whole seems to have forgotten this principle, myself included. What you put into your body, is what you get out of your body. You can’t expect to put crap low octane fuel into a car and then have it perform like a race car.

People think there is a magic pill, or diet, or singular exercise, or device that will let them continue on their destructive route and get amazing results on the side. The ugly truth is there is no magic pill, or anything else that will get you the amazing results you want, without a clean diet, exercise, and rest. People take diet pills to suppress their appetite, or caffeine products to boost their energy from lack of proper rest, or devices that claim to sculpt and shape their bodies in just minutes a day.

The reality is that it takes a lot of consistent proper eating, exercise, and rest to make real change in our bodies. I had no break days while I was on my program, I did not cheat once, no alcohol, sugar, or salt. I never missed a workout, and I never made excuses. Cheating, was only cheating myself.
Now that I have finished my program from my trainer, Steve Poynter of www.fitnesspoynters.com, I have no desire to go back to that previous lifestyle. I celebrated this weekend by eating a burger, some hot dogs and having a some alcohol. Not only was I not happy with myself afterwards, but my body itself was miserable. It let me know in no uncertain terms that it was not appreciate of the garbage I fed it.

Now keep in mind, that I ate my proper meal plan during the day, but celebrated those nights. I’ll still eat a good tasty meal once or twice a month, but I have no desire to break out of the clean routine I’ve got going on. I feel more attuned to my body, it lets me know if I’m not keeping up on my water intake, or I’m getting close one of the 6 meals I eat a day.

I look forward to continuing down the path I have chosen, and I invite you all to join me, one step at a time.
