dialing in the diet…or not

I usually hit up the healthfood store for something to eat. I made the mistake of ordering a footlong veggiedelite at Subway with provolone cheese. Granted it was two meals worth of food, still the calories added up to more than I wanted. I think I’ll go back to brownbagging it or buying the two pack of lentil burgers and one single dinner roll and know what I’m eating. I like Elite protein vanilla so I’m ordering that. Today I had three eggs for breakfast with a slice of cheese. Right now I’m eating mostly healthy foods but my goal of 85% rawfoods still eludes me because eating mostly rawfoods entails buying a lot of fruits and vegetables to satisfy the appetite. Stirfrys of frozen vegetables with a little brown rice is as healthy as an exotic rawfood gourmet meal and less expensive IMHO.

Okay onto to exercise!!!! Yesterday was the first say I truly lifted heavier and targeted specific areas namely my legs and back. I stuck to mostly compound exercises and did three sets of locust poses for my lower back. I also did twenty minutes on the stepper. I was pretty sore last night and today hamstrings are a little sore but I FEEL GREAT.

The weight lifting is doing wonders for my mood. Now if I just get a good night’s sleep with my husband tossing and turning and fixing himself *LOL*

Iron pillz are good for the brain

I got a 93 on my musculoskeletal focus exam today. My stress levels are markedly decreased to almost nothing. I’m ramping back up to pre-cancer surgery levels of working out which entailed deadlifting close to 100# and benchpressing 50#. I’m shifting my diet focus to lose fat and chisel my body down to a good fighting weight of 130#. My mother has been steadily gaining weight back and she looks really good. She was making a little style on me and I’m happy that she’s happy. I want to get her to start pumping iron but one day at a time.

 I know that my problem is snacking, even if it’s with healthy things like raisins,etc. but in fact the extra cup or two of Milo with soy milk and honey is adding calories and fat. I can have that stuff when I release the extra pounds. I was reading a sample bodybuilding diet to lose fat and I can have vegetables after all. I just have to watch my carbs and fats. If I have fats, it’ll be something like flaxseed oil.

I did thirty minutes on the stepper today before my heart said ENOUGH *LOL* Incidentally today I started the cardiac focus chapter so I was imagining my heart pumping and getting bullet proof through good exercise. The best part is that I feel better today and do not feel stress in my life (right now).
